Yes, I think they deserve it! Of course some don't but the many who do should be granted amnesty.They work hard for a living,harder than a lot of citizens in this country.

One activity does not preclude the illegality of another action. Someone who enters the country illegally has broken the law.

Either change the law or enforce the law.

So, they steal jobs from U.S. workers, then pay taxes on the money they earn (maybe, and if so, far less than the services they use)--taxes which would have been paid by the U.S. workers they dispossessed. To top it off, we the taxpayer end up paying for not only social services and welfare for the Americans dispossessed, but the medical care and educations of working poor illegal aliens. Pull the other one. The only thing illegal aliens "deserve" is a quick trip back across the border.

Again, taxes don't care who pays them. If the jobs illegal aliens hold were filled by Americans, AMERICANS would be paying those taxes, so taxes "paid" by illegal aliens are not a net gain to the U.S. and would still be paid were they not here. In fact, since illegal aliens drive down wages, fewer taxes are collected on these reduced wages than if Americans held those jobs.

By the way, please quit quoting studies that conflate LEGAL immigrants with illegal aliens. Even in the studies with legal immigrants, the net benefit to AMERICANS is zilch. Immigrants get most of the benefit themselves.

They dont all pay taxes, and often claim poverty level wages but really get paid higher than that under the table so they dont have to report it.

Also, a large portion of their money goes backt o their families in mexico/ elsewhere therefore taking the money out of our economy, its in the billions.

I would like to pay them back, but not in the ridiculous way you stated, There are millions of illegals who have never paid a cent into anything but have gladly signed up for every free service available to them. these definitely outnumber the ones who do. I have stated before, I have altered my diet to make sure everything my family eats has been locally grown and has never came into contact with illegals of any sort. These people should pay us back for all our tax dollars they have used to educate their illegal offspring, to bring their anchor babies in the world and for the lives of American citizens they have taken, for the ones who have infected others and the list goes on and on. I refuse to eat anywhere that employs illegals etc...I do not use any services that an illegal does and never will. Amnesty has been offered in the past with very few coming forward, do you actually think they would come forward and obey the laws. No because more than half would not pass the guidelines, especially of not having a criminal record huh.

If "immigrants",and again with throwing the illegals in with the legal,
contributed as much as your article claims we would not be in the financial mess we are currently in. $80,000 X 12M people. And they are talking about soc sec. The $9B they pay in does not even come close to covering the $28B to educate their children, the $3B to delivery their babies, the welfare, the WIC, the housing assistance and every other program they deplete.

You are getting your terms confused! Amnesty does NOT mean reward someone for their criminal activity! What you are suggesting would be like:
Finding someone molesting a 6 year old and telling them to keep the child for future "urges"
OR
If someone kills someone else you buy them a gun and ammo so they can do it again
OR
Giving a drug dealer a pharmacist license.

By the way: less than 2% of illegal aliens work in agriculture. They do NOT process enough food to feed all the illegal aliens! That means that Americans are feeding them NOT the other way around!

NOTE: illegal aliens use more in services than they pay in taxes! If someone steals $1000.00 from you and gives you back $10.00 that is NOT a good thing!

"Contributions of Immigrants (legal & illegal) to the United States" was the lead in to the story! Not immediately before the above statement! Please use an ellipsis in the future so people will know you left out half a paragraph.

I completely disagree with you. To begin with the entered the country illegally and have not been security checked which means they are a public security risk. Second many come in with very little skills and take away jobs, especially in these tough economic times, jobs from those who are here legally. In addition by allowing them to stay it would in theory cause a period of wage deflation in order to pay for them, the additional labor market that is willing to work for less, and the additional expenses business have to pay. Remember if they are legal they would have to be paid minimum wage, entitled to legal protections, and all of this cost. Third by making illegal immigrants legal how do you propose cities, schools, and hospitals pay for the extra cost to support them? Fourth I would challenge your stats. My first challenge is what is the reason for not separating the stats for legal immigrants from illegal immigrants. I suspect this is to skew the stats to make it appear that illegals contribute to the economy even though the net effect is a drain on resources. Furthermore I believe any money an illegal may contribute to the economy is negated by the cost to support them (free school lunches, busing to school, extra teachers, ESL programs, hospitals writing off medical bills form them, agencies to support them, etc) and jail those who go on to break further laws. In all honesty I believe your information is skewed and I personally will vote against any candidate that supports amnesty for illegal immigrants.

My way of "paying back the illegals" is simple. I feel the best way is to make change the law regarding citizenship that states both parents must have been in the country legally at the time that the child is born and at least one parent must be residing in the US at the time. In the event the child is born outside of the US one parent must be a US citizen who has resided for at least 5 years in the US. Second I would at the time of deportation charge each illegal the cost any governmental services that they may have received, charge them for all medical bills, and make it condition before any application to enter the country legally will be consider they will have to pay the net cost ( cost minus any documented taxes they have paid). If they enter illegally before the money owed is paid back then charge them with defrauding the government and then once they have served the jail sentence send them back.
