It is possible to renew u.s.tourist visa if you arrived in the same date of expirationdate of visa?

this is the situation....my friend went to the states last dec.19, 2008 and shes return to the philippines on april 11 2009 and her visa will be expired on april 11, 2009. but the immigration stamp the I-94 valid till june 18, 2009. what should my friend do? is she come back to the philippines early of april 11 so that she can renew her u.s tourist visa or she can do the renew of visa a day after her arrival?

She would not get into problem if she comes back to Philippine till June 18, 2009 since that it's stated on your I-94 (But check again with the immigration lawyer; I'm not a lawyer I'm answering based a lot experiences). You just have to remember a visa is away you to enter the U.S then the immigration/Homeland Security where she enters will decide whether she can come in or not to U.S soil then also how long she would be staying in U.S. But keep in mind you never stay longer what it's stated on I-94 because you'd be out status or they call it you're an illegal immigrant. Even only 1 day!

I think she can renew her visa after she comes back to Philippine after June 18, 2009 (June 19, 2009 is the date your friend has to be out of the country otherwise she'd be illegal and the embassy would not renew her visa for another I believe 10 years or something. (Not sure don't quote on me)
