How about we celebrate science, progress, civil rights, common sense, technology, modern medicine...
and all the other stuff that Islam has nothing to do with. |

If that is what suits them, fine....not for me, though. I prefer freedom |

More floggings and beheadings to follow.
The above is fair comment and what you must expect. Right now the people of UK are pissed off with Islam, especially since their very own Archbishop of Canterburystan has now become so brain-washed he thinks he is leading a flock of Muslim sheep. |

If you want to take the time to check out the lives of "ordinary" muslims in places such as Nigeria, Ethiopia, Somalia, Yemen, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Sri Lanka etc, etc, etc, I think you will find that Islam is not really giving them a "wonderfull" life !!
That's why they are invading the UK !! |

Too bad an otherwise beautiful religion has been turned into a dirty word by the filth and perversion of Al Qaeda and their ilk. |

Having spent time living in Pakistan amongst muslims, as a white woman I can honestly say that I felt safer walking around there than I do in the UK. There is no drunken violence as alcohol for muslims is banned (though OK if you are not a muslim), and there is a culture of respect. I experienced kindness and generosity which touched and suprised me (it is islamic duty to protect and welcome guests and strangers). So I have no gripe with ordinary Muslims and I think there is a lot ot be celebrated in the religion - why do we always just focus on those who twist the words of the Koran, ordinary muslims aren't like this. |

Are you kidding!;The suppression of womens rights and religious intolerance as seen in other parts of the world!I know one person who would agree with you though; The Archbishop of Canterbury!!Ask him? |

They are welcome to celebrate their religion, but leave me out, I don't want to be part of anything that advocates mutilation of women, stoning to death, beheadings, and hating anyone else who doesent agree with their views |

Doesn't seem like a wonderful life, looks like a brainwashing cult. Seriously, it does not look like much fun.
Especially when your head gets cut off because you drew a picture, or named a teddy bear muhammad |

No! As far as I can see the religion is one of bigotry and hatred in the main. There nay be another side but if there is it isnt shown very often. I expect all the ladies in this article are celebrating NOT! http://www.guardian.co.uk/theissues/article/0,6512,777972,00.html |

I don't think that you should celebrate it as such. It should be a case of you being thankful everyday, for the fact that you are a muslim... |

The twin-concept of Haram and Halal makes a lot of difference in the life of an individual.
Yes.... this Islamic concept needs to be celebrated. |

Islam has got the reputation for being a religion whichh spread faster than any other one. The chief reason for its growth is its violence means with whic it was spread. Its sweep has created a great jolt to the old religions and civilisations and continues to be a destabilising factor in the comity of nations. When one may consider its uncompromising stance on the unitariness of God-head as its single most virtue from the theological point of view, a strict adherence to it even under the threat of death to its opponents, has been the single most factor for the wide spread destabilisation it has brought with it. Not withstanding the protestations of peace as its avowed goal, it has given rise to an impression that it is an intolerant and dogmatic religion. While I say this, I am conscious of many virtuous Muslim gentlemen whom I know and how their religion has had played a dominant role in shaping their out look to life. |
