Who Cares
Go to their home country and marry and be happy
Thus making me happy another Illegal Alien Invader has gone home and took a supporter of Illegal Alien Invaders with them
Illegal is not a Race by the way. |

I think it is pretty darn hard. Lots of paperwork and attorneys and might require the person to go to their home country and wait. It could be 2-3 years I think, even if all the paperwork and everything is done correctly and immediately. Plus there will be financial requirements. I'm no expert. |

It can be hard and surreal, the problems you can face. If you are unlucky with your dossier, it can take years and years and a whole lot of money to finally have your legal status and then ordinary life begins, which is not easy at all if you have to start from scratch. |

I know it takes sometimes years to work through the approval system, lots of money for lawyers and filing costs and if he is already here illegally, he might have to leave and wait to come back.
To Pancha : Xenophobe would be someone who is fearful, hatefull or leary of someone / thing of a different species. Are you suggesting that whites are not human? Or that you are not? |

,I have a friend going through this right now. He has to go back to his home country for at least three years and try to straighten out most of the paperwork. This has been going on for 5 years now
gokart what part of love did you not get? Who said anything about marriage for citizenship????????? |

It's nasty difficult. The illegal immigrant would have to go back to the country of origin without being caught. Then they would have to get an immigration lawyer to take care of all the legal crap, which would take at least a year and I can't even tell you how much money, not to mention the year that they could potentially be spending apart from eachother. |

The answers you received are about what I expected. I've nearly finished with the process with my wife. When all is said and done it will have taken close to 3 years. And ours has gone pretty smoothly compared to others. |

That's not my problem, it's theirs. Immigrants need to educate themselves on the law not me. |

We don't want it to be easy. Were there no fraud in situations like the one you describe, it would be easier. Unfortunately, there is considerable fraud. Also, it is his fault if he is in the country illegally. He shouldn't be here. |

Educated enough to know that marriage-for-citizenship is one of the scams they're cracking down on pretty heavily these days. |

If the person truly wishes to become a US citizen then there are classes he/she must take and pass. I just don't know how long it takes and when does this person do, for income, in the mean time? |

It's not hard, but it will take some doing! |

If this were the scenario...why bother getting married? Buy rings and pretend you are. |

hard...honestly, it doesn't matter if the other person is in this country legally or illegally, it's just as difficult and time-consuming...and yeah...can be very expansive too...and the sad thing is that it sometimes takes less time to become a legal permanent resident illegally than to do it legally.... |

not my worries, I would never sneak into mexico, bet on that, it the people of the country that make the country, all it tells me is they screwed their country up and want to leave the mess for someone else to clean up, same thing they will do here. |
