Ok, I don't speak excellent english and nobody does, am I wrong? What's the matter with immigrants? We came here like that. The only ones and the owners of this place were the Native Americans... so we need immigrants (Asians, Africans, Americans and all the others)... and also Illegals pay taxes, the differents between legal and ilegal is paper's and also the ilegals can't claim their $ back after taxes you know, that's why the Social Security has millions of $$$ never claimed. Think about it.

Bunt, really ... most illegals do not speak excellent English, and you know it ... another fallacy, ANYONE could not just show up and get citizenship, you may not be aware that plenty of people who tried to immigrate through Ellis were indeed classified as illegals and were deported, or ran the risk of getting killed ... all this can be found in reliable sources if you bother to google for it ...

And this country, like ALL countries, have to change their laws from time to time ... once upon a time this country needed immigrants, and consequently had more lenient immigration laws ... nowadays we don't need them, so the immigration laws here, as well as everywhere else in the world, got stricter ... look at Australia, which used to be a convict colony .. you try and get there as a convict now ... :)

Another thing .. most countries' immigration policy, in Europe as well as Canada and Australia, is based on what's good for the country, not because of some humanitarian belief that everyone should be allowed, the poor and the criminals included ... for that we have, what other countries also have, a perfectly valid refugee and asylum law ... if you are threatened by death or persecution in your country, you are indeed given refugee status ... that however is not the case with the majority of the immigrants to this country ...

Since I've noticed from all your previous questions that your only interest is yourself and your situation, may I ask, if you're so clever, why you allowed your visa to slip and become an overstayer? It could easily have been fixed within the time frame of your expired visa, if you had bothered to extend it, or reapply ...

And once and for all, there's nothing Nazi about our laws, which are in the main the same as any other country's immigration laws ... what differs in the U.S. is that our laws have not been enforced for decades, which is why we're in the situation we're in today ... nothing wrong with the existing laws, but everything wrong with the way they are not being enforced ...

If you showed up at a nice restaurant & had money to pay for dinner, yet they had no available tables because they were all full, would you insist that you had the same right to eat there as everyone else, even tho you had no reservation? Would you cram extra tables into the restaurant and seat yourself in front of the others who were waiting before you came in, and would you demand to be waited on there, or would you put your name on the waiting list and wait like everyone else?

Here in Arizona I have yet to locate the illegal that speaks any English either badly or excellent.I speak Spanish as well as a couple more languages,so whats your point?
This country learns from its mistakes and a very sieve like border is and has been a mistake. We are in the process of correcting that policy by tightening our borders.The legal immigrant has nothing to be concerned about.they are and will be welcomed .its only the illegal that is a criminal in the eyes of the law that should worry.

i would like to know where you are from...a place where most illegals speak english????give me a break...i am from around houston and you are lucky to find any that speak english...and then they look at you like you are crazy when they cant understand what is being told to them...like you are in the wrong for speaking english...i would also like to know where you think that they pay taxes...most of them get paid cash under the table daily!!!i think that if they dont like what is going on for them here...where they really arent suppose to be..they should go to their country!

What world are you living in? A n invalid or even valid visa does not give you a SSN you have to be a legal resident or citizen to get a valid SSN. And no you don't pay taxes if you work under the table as many illegals do. No one is nor was provided citizenship solely on English proficiency. People back then were turned back for all sorts of reasons and then immigration standards and limits were set decades ago. Illegal is illegal in America or any other country in the world. You don't want to become American citizens you want to take what you can get and if that means you can take part of the country you don't belong to then you try to justify the theft by saying it's the fault of the people there and not you. It's like robbing a bank and blaming the tell for having the money in the drawer and not stopping you from taking it. And if the teller tries to stop you then you call the teller racist and stupid. Come on and don't be a fool you are the one using a double standard. You want to be American be we have to bow to your culture and way of life and abandon ours. Not asking anyone to become citizens of the country - we just want everyone to come here legally. There is no double standard in that at all.

One does not have to be an American Citizen to live in this country. One just has to have the proper forms and cards to remain here legally. Yes - you will pay taxes. And yes - you will be expected to speak English. So what? If I decided to live in France, I would have to pay their taxes and speak their language. You think that they would bend over backwards to assist me if I couldn't speak a lick of French? Why is America expected to be the push over and take in everyone and cater to them and their needs? No other country would do it - or does it now. Just because everyone wants to come here, we are expected to just allow them to. BS!!

If you are in the US you SHOULD have to speak the language native to this country (English) and you SHOULD have to pay taxes. Why wouldn't you? But admit it - there are many illegal immigrants in this country that do NOT pay ANY TAXES, and they don't know how to speak ENGLISH. And don't deny it - I have seen it and experienced it. All anyone is asking is that if someone wants to come here, they need to do it BY THE RULES!!!!

Actually,they didn't even have to speak english.I know,b/c my great-grands came over via Ellis island around 1900 or before from Italy.My grandpa used to tell me that his father learned english quickly but his mother barely knew any when she died at about 40yrs old.And that was after she'd been here for 20 + yrs.All they had to do was step on the US soil and sign the book at Ellis island.True,their last name was changed to something easier to pronounce,but oh well,they became citizens.

My husband is illegal.We have been married for 5yrs,together for 8.He pays taxes and speaks english.And he's married to an american.So why can't he become a citizen?I guess he could,if we could afford it.Thats something alot of people don't get:it takes money for legal status here.Try around 3,000 dollars with lawyers fees.I wish he could get it only by speaking english.......
