My uncle, he's a stereotypical italian. Dark hair, tanned skin, blue eyes (only when you go to italy do you realise how many italians have blue eyes!) italian accent, passionate, likes pizza and pasta, sometimes a tad moody haha! Oh and he wears stylish clothes and always looks well groomed and he's a hairdresser! No straight english guy would be a barber (well you did say lets be stereotypical!) |

Remember guys: this questioner put this question about steretyping in the Yahoo Questions category of "immigration"; there is a reason for that. Another class assignment? Seems there are many of them tonight. Or some patronizing "progressive" trying to prove that no one could possibly have logical reasons for being against illegal immigration in the U.S. It is simply all attributable to "stereotyping", or perhaps "fear of the unknown", these are a few of their favorites.
When you say "Italian", what comes to my mind is someone who lives in Italy. In the past, it might have been an Italian who legally immigrated when the U.S. still had the need and room, didn't get any welfare, didn't cry "discrimination" and get affirmative action, and usually that "Italian" assimilated within one generation and called him/herself an "American." This is NOT the case with current immigration trends, especially when the far majority are from one country. |
