Enforce existing immigration laws! Let Border Patrol agents do their jobs, using force when necessary, without going to jail for doing so. Illegal immigrants are rapidly eroding the education system and health care in this country. I'm not against immigration, but I am against illegals.

Judging by your question I can see you have a good idea of what the southern states need; a good size fence with as much defensive qualities and armament as possible. I am Pedro Ramirez-de la Cruz from Los Angeles, Mexifornia, although I am originally from Mexico City, Mexico. I crossed the border illegally 12 years ago with mi wife, Maria and our three children (we now have 11 kids with one more on the way). Please do not call me an illegal alien, I prefer to be called an â€œundocumented workerâ€. (Although I do have documents, but they are fakes, ha, ha). I want to thank yu for making it so easy for us to stay in yor great country! We came over with little money, but yu Americanos have been so generous that I now own mi own home. It is wonderful that yor banks will give home mortgages to those that come to the US illegally, and credit cards too.

Thank yu for providing welfare, free education, and food stamps for mi children, and medical care for mi entire Familia. I am very grateful for the driverâ€™s license that Governor Arnold has allowed all of us undocumented workers to obtain. I have great hope for mi childrenâ€™s future, and for the future of all mi relatives still living in Mexico. Thanks to the efforts of great politicos like Senators Eduardo Kennedy, Juan McCain, Hillaria Cleenton, Harry Reid, and Representative Nanci Pelosio we will soon be legal citizens, and I will be able to bring all mi 35 relatives to this country so that they can become citizens too!

I would also like to thank the great ***** leaders especially Reverends Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. They and the NAACP want all of the undocumented workers in the country to get citizenship. Of course, that will mean greater competition for jobs with their ***** followers, but it seems that they donâ€™t care about that. Some people call them self-serving, poblicity-seeking egomaniacs who are traitors to their race, and that is probably true, but I love them anyway!

It is a shame that the southwestern US states will not be part of the USA by the end of this century because we Mexicanos will make them a part of the Mexican Empire, which we call Aztlan. Groups like La Raza, MEChA, OLA, and La Raza Unida Party are working very hard to get back our lands. But yu must comprende that yu gringos stole the land from us in The Texas War and The War with Mexico. We will get this land back without firing a shot! Because yu are letting in millions of Mexican citizens we are now recolonizing these states. Because we make mucho babies, and because many gringas donâ€™t want to have babies, there will soon be more of us in yor states than yu! Did yu know that 10% of all American births are to â€œundocumented workersâ€? I bet yu didnâ€™t know that yu stoopid Americanos.

I have only one complaint about yu Americanos. Why are yu talking about building a fence on the border with Mexico? If yu do that, then very few Mexicans will be able to come here and find work. Who will plant yor gardens, mow yor lawns, wash yor cars, be yor childrenâ€™s nanny, or prepare yor Mexican food if yu build a fence? I know I really shouldnâ€™t worry about the fence since Presidente Jorge Boosh and the Democrats in Congress really donâ€™t want to build it. Also, I am sure that the next Presidente will not secure yor border with Mexico and will certainly give amnesty to millions of us Chicanos. We love Hillaria Cleenton, Juan McCain, Rudio Juliano, and Baraka Obama. They are good friends to us Chicanos, but probably not so good friends to yu gringos, eh? Yu would be foolish to vote for someone like Representatives Tom Tancredo or Duncan Hunter because they really are serious about building a border fence, and deporting â€œundocumented workersâ€ like me.

No, we think that it is stupid to waste time and money on things that will not work and that are never going to happen.

The US-Mexico border is the third busiest (in terms of legal commerce) in the world. Without killing that trade, any wall/barrier will come with a thousand built-in holes.

Most importantly, the two big winners from having illegal workers in America are the Mexican government and American business (and, by extension, the US government). The money that Mexican immigrants send back to their families represents the third largest source of income for the Mexican government. The Mexican economy cannot survive without that revenue. American companies recruit inside of Mexico and bring workers into this country themselves (and yes, it is illegal when they do it, too) because it substantially increases their profits.

The immigration issue comes down to this fact - it exists as it does because the governments of Mexico and the United States both want it to exist.

That is the reason it exists, and that is the reason that nothing will ever be done about it.

That is the way it is, so you might as well get used to it. If you think that there is anything you can do about it, you are just wasting your time.

Untrue. If that were true, it would reduce the number of people entering America; but the number keeps increasing. This is not the 1400s (not that walls always worked that great back then either); walls and fences are not going to stop something as large and with the inertia of the immigration issue.

The fact that illegal immigrants pay taxes at all will come as news to many Americans. A stunning two-thirds of illegal immigrants pay Medicare, Social Security and personal income taxes.

In reality, the 1996 welfare reform bill disqualified illegal immigrants from nearly all means-tested government programs including food stamps, housing assistance, Medicaid and Medicare-funded hospitalization.

Close to 8 million of the 12 million or so illegal aliens in the country today file personal income taxes using these numbers, contributing billions to federal coffers.

What's more, aliens who are not self-employed have Social Security and Medicare taxes automatically withheld from their paychecks. Since undocumented workers have only fake numbers, they'll never be able to collect the benefits these taxes are meant to pay for.
