i think that overall America would find a way to overcome any problem that would develop from sending all the Illegals here and once we cleaned up our social system and got everything back and balanced i really think the government would start making it more simple for people to come here and work.. maybe people should start looking at big companies and asking them why they are sponsoring workers to come here legally... many of them aren't... i know the one i work for doesn't... |

The United States of North America would be better off to get millions and millions of Inner City baby makers and drug dealers who are 4th generation welfare receiptents off their fat arses to work in the sawmills , lumber yards , back breaking field work , poultry , and meat productions farms .
Milking cows , cleaning out manure barns and other undesirable jobs , then we could send all the hard working undocumented workers home.

Better, in every aspect. Congress could focus on things involving citizens for a change, wages would be competitive again, schools and hospitals would not be overburdened, we could curb the spread of unchecked diseases, our gov't could better monitor and locate security threats, law enforcement could focus on finding our own criminals... so many things. We might even be able to let in a few more legal immigrants than we do now, too. |

it might be better but who would cook your food in restaurants? wash your cars? clean your houses? cut your lawn? pick your veggies? make your coffee in the morning at the coffee shop? it is very easy to say life would be better until you stop and think of all the jobs that are done by illegal aliens that are too crappy for me and u to do! |

More money for US citizens. There will be more money for school, health care, and many other things instead of programs to help people who don't belong here. it will also help speed up the process for people who do very right to try to enter this country legally. |

Would stand to reason that we'd be better off. Americans and legal residence who would be getting back the jobs others swear "Americans and legals won't do" will spend the money in America's economy. Wages would no longer be depressed.

Super Chee - I, myself am not talking of fast food or field work paying better wages. I am talking of the work that illegals depressed wages from. Construction of the roadways and homes or businesses for one. Landscaping for another. How about the Trucking Industry. I am merely talking about the jobs that have been out of the norm from what illegals have had, and have been given. Field work used to be the only opportunity illegals had. Now they are getting or have been given much more than field work to do. The jobs that Americans did do and filled. Wages for field work in some places are already up to $10.00 hourly starting. And that is far more than minimum wage for those who wish to reconsider. I also know that the field hands (not illegals) that I know also get yearly bonuses worth thousands of dollars. Which if calculated would put field work darn close to $16.50 hourly. Even the fast food joints like Wendy's, McDonald's, and Subways - are putting out tip jars on the counters for not having waitresses -waiters to take ones orders, then serve one as well.
meg - Just because some Americans have become complacent in running their own lives, and doing for themselves (merely to simplify their own lives)... doesn't mean they can't do it again for themselves. So please stop pretending that people can't cook their own meals. Cut there own lawns. Clean their own houses. Make their own coffee. Wash their own cars. Pick their own veggies or fruit for that matter. You see Hon, Everything you mentioned I happen to do for myself on a daily and regular basis. I also do them for others. Besides if Americans still want to be complacent to simplify their lives, they still do not need illegals to do those things for them.
Felipe - I have also worked the lumber yards, milked the cows, Skinned, and gutted them, poultry, and other meat as well. Even raised them for food. Cleaned the stables, and pens, and threw the stuff on a manure spreader and fertlized the fields with every last bit of it. Bucked and stacked hay from the fields into the barn. I moved from a farming community. And on occasions, still go out to a farm and give a helping hand there as well.
YeeHaw - You won't pay "$7.00" for a head of lettuce, but you'll sit back and pay billions for their K - 12 educations, hospital bills, their lack of vehicle insurances, their public attorney fees, and court costs, their WIC and Welfare, among other costs. I wonder if you realize that you and everyone else are paying through the nose for our necessities because of the droughts, and other disasters that we have incurred, on top of paying for the illegals that are here. You know those farmers are given government subsidies for these natural disasters, and to pay their help at Americans expense. And for most of those farmers DO NOT have to pay that money back. I have seen the light, and the common sense now in your presented argument. Not!!

everyone thinks they would be better off without them.. the trouble is they do alot of the work that many americans do not. they work the fields, milk cows, work in slaughter houses.. etc..If they weren't here we would either not have many products available that we do today or they would cost much more. The US allowed the problem to become enormous as it was overlooked for so many years..I feel sorry for the politicians who have to try and solve the issue.. my bet is that they dont do anything.. just keep taliking about it forever.. just like everything else. |
