Marry american citizen?

If an american citizen plans to marry an immigrant? what paperwork is needed to file? how much are the forms and how long does it take the process?

Check out uscis.gov. What paperwork is required differs depending on whether the immigrant is in the US now, and whether they came on a visa or not. But you'd start with an I-130 immigrant petition. If the immigrant came on a visa, you'll also need to file an I-485 adjustment of status form, take a look at that and the instruction sheet as well. If the immigrant already has a green card, all you need is a marriage license.

I believed you would have to stay married for a certain number of years to qualify for citizenship in the United States.
