What the heck are you doing to only make $225 a week? Sure I know that people have to take whatever job. But for full time that is slave wages.
When I was younger I worked 3 jobs in order to take care of my family. I was always tired and never saw them but they were safe. It was tough times.
What I did was buck up at some point and join the military. My wife and children were safe and secure and my future was assured. Now all told with all I make about $150K a year with investments. job and such.
My point is think outside the box. |

You might be able to depending on the rules of income for welfare in your area. You might be able to get on food stamps, uhm, your girfriend can probably apply for medicade for her and the baby. There's also a program called WIC (women infants children) that you can apply for, and they give you food like peanut butter, eggs, cheese, milk, juice, and baby formula for the first year that your child's alive. |

Look in to WIC, Medicaid, and food stamps. You will qualify for sure. Plus you can apply for Substidized housing. If you live in certain apartments they will pay some of your rent! |

You dont say where you are but if you are in the UK you will get working family tax credit. On what you are earning you should get quite a lot |

Congrats- If you don't get married she can get assistance for her and the baby through the state but it depends on what state you live in.
My friend is married and her daughter gets medical and WIC through the state but nothing else no food stamps.
You really need to make a lot more money than that if you are going to support them both. You may need to get a second job. Single mom's do it.
My advice is have her go to college and get a degree so she can get a good job then you go to school so you both will have an education and rely on other people for money |

It would of course depend where you are living (ie UK you should be able to claim working and child tax credits as well as child benefit) there is a government website www.entitledto.co.uk where you should be able to check.
