You need to speak to the British Embassy before you go anywhere, ask them about fiancee visas.

If you come over on the visa waiver scheme & marry while you're in the UK you won't be allowed to change your status - you need to secure a visa before you leave the US.

Why are you coming o Scotland ? If you are coming to work then you need a work permit from UK office (you may inquire about this in Canada). If you are coming as visitor you do not need a visa. you can travel to uk for up to 90 day But you must not be employed in any job in UK
