pretty much agree with everything you've said . . . . dont know what to do . . we cant just round them up and ship them home, although everytime you switch on the news there seems to be another council that have passed another insane ruling so as not to offend these people . . . where as we cant ship out the onrs that are here already, i would certainly shut the doors to any future incomers. and another fact that disturbed me was that mohamed is now the SECOND most popular boys name for newborns in the UK |

I don't have an answer, but I do know where you are coming from.
To take it a bit further. i don't believe it is just the Muslims, but any immigrant. I cannot speak for the UK, but in the US I have a problem with the people that don't hold up the basic ideals that the US holds.
In the beginning, the US was for those to seek freedom from their own country and to take up and support the beliefs of the US. Now each person deserves the right to be respected, but when I see how people say "oh i'm not going to say the pledge of allegiance because it is against my religion" that make me nuts.
I know the US is far from perfect and has lots of internal corruption in its own government. It seems that everyone is either trying to screw the country for their own benefit OR they expect the entire country to change just for them.
Bottom line, yes if you don't like it, then don't live there. I'd like to see some of the people who convert on a whim to a new religion actually go to that religion's motherland and see how much they like it then. |

errrrrr, yes; difficult area this. The French, for example, really do accept that our social model in the UK is very good and works. We integrate people from all lands very well, in fact probably too well. Where I agree with you is that things are getting a little out of hand like the cancellation of Christmas plays and some shops, in certain areas, not selling Christmas cards so as not to cause offence. I lived in Dubai for a few years and was extremely aware that I was in a Muslim country and behaved accordingly ie.. with respect for their beliefs. |

I'm Italian and I apologize if my english isn't very good... I think that here in Italy the problem of Muslims is 100 times more felt by Italian people respect US people because Arabian Countries like Tunisia, Turkey, Marocco, Iraq, Iran ecc ecc are near to Italy and we have the sea on 3 parts of Italy... so it's difficult to control how many people arrive here by sea...
We have a lot of Immigrants also from Romania, Bulgaria ecc ecc and if you listen to italian news on the TV you can know that everyday a woman is violented, some houses are opened by thieves, and in Milan in the underground everyday I have to pay attention because of the thieves who wants to pick my pocket from my bag...
I'm not racist, I'm not against ALL Immigrants or ALL muslims... but I think that if they come here in western Countries they have to folllow our law, to respect Italian people as well as Americans or English or French...
I think that only in this way they could assimilate to western people: first of all respecting us and our habits.. only then we will be able to talk about assimilation...

Religion aside......You are spot on. It's not just muslims, It's all immigrants. I don't want them talking in a foreighn language round the streets. It's ignorant as they could be saying anything making people suspicious. As for the PC aspect it's a farce. Striped buns not hot cross ones nowedays......Can we even call this England any more or are we forced to say were from multi-cultural land? That's what will be next, watch this space....... |

I couldn't agree more. They (all immigrants these days) think we owe them a living. They want all the riches and privileges we have but don't want to assimilate or become US citizens. They prefer to live illegally, mooching off us hard working Americans. They are a completely different breed than the foreigners that cames into this country in my grandparents day. The difference is that they are leaving countries where the government doesn't give a flying **** what people think or want, so they keep their mouths shut while living there. Then they come to democractic countries where the governments are "of, for and by the people," and they realize that they can complain about anything, and they won't end up in prison (or a mass grave) for it. So they do so.
The fact that assimilation is under fire, and being replaced by a "mulitculti" model that tells immigrants that they can hold on to their customs in a new (Western) county, rather than assimilate, causes them to think that they should be able to change their environment to fit them.
That the Left/liberals are more than willing to navigate the legal system and file lawsuits on their behalf, alleging discrimination against a minority group whenever immigrants are pressured to change their ways, makes it attractive to hold on to one's own customs, and use the legal system to change the country. |

I notice this as well. Some guy came to the UK from Africa and then claimed incapacity benefit saying he had bad depression because the weather was different here in the UK and it was a different culture and he was in a minority group where he lived. Nobody forced him to come here, I think he just get the $$$ in his eyes!! |
