If it's just a short trip and you will be back in PI before your passport expire there shouldn't be a problem.However, it might be wise to have it renewed if you intend to go to US or Europe to avoid any delay/denial of entry in your travel.

You supposed to have at least 6 months before expiration kabayan...where you planning to go coz it also depends on the country you're going to.
