My conditional resident status expires in MAY. My US Citizenship interview will be in APRIL. I am overseas and a dependent of a civilian military contractor so they are able to expedite the application for US citizenship.
question #1 Do I need to file a petition to remove the condition or just wait for the result of the US citizenship?
question #2 If I need to file a petition to remove the condition, does my husband need to appear personally with me?
question #3 If I fail the US Citizenship test, would I need to go back to the states and file the petition right away since my green card is expiring in MAY?

Yes, you need to file a petition to remove the condition.
A resident with conditional green card through marriage are required to submit the I-751 application, within the 90-day period prior to the second anniversary of conditional residence to USCIS to remove the conditions on the green card.
