My father is a natural-born British citizen. Do I qualify for UK citizenship even if I reside in Canada?

I've never lived in the UK, but I'd like to apply for a British passport and citizenship for the advantages in travel and work opportunities. My parents were married when I was born, which I understand is one of the requirements for a child to inherit their parent's citizenship, and my father spent a portion of his childhood living in the UK. However, he has spent most of his life living outside the UK (he has duel Canadian and British citizenship).

Would I qualify for a passport and/or citizenship (whether British or European Union) even if I've never traveled to the UK? And how much would it cost to obtain either one? Would I qualify for a European Union passport as well?
Additional Details
If it makes a difference, my parents have been legally divorced since I was about 13 and separated when I was 9. I doubt this would affect my ability to qualify, but I figured I'd include it just in case.

No worries, write to Lunar House in East Croydon they do the paperwork then you can get a passport for Â£35.
Yes you can work/live all over Europe w. it too and pass your citizenship(s) on to any kids you have later. Still much less restrictive than the US but that probably won't last forever. It's tough everywhere at the moment but anyone young can always find work in London to start with. Go for it, I did the same at 18, had a blast and am still here 30 years later!

Yes, You can apply for a passport without citizenship. If you want to work then you will need a citizenshio, NHS card and NI card.

Separation does not affect you. Your father was British. The birth Certificate must have him as your father

First your father has to have had British citizenship otherwise than by descent. This normally entails being born in the UK. Was your father born in the UK?
If your father was born in the UK he can most likely pass citizenship to you.
Second there is no EU citizenship. Every country has it's own citizenship. I have Irish citizenship. I have an Irish passport. There is no EU passport.
I believe a British passport is about 72 pounds
Apply for a passport at the British consulate that has jurisdiction over where you live.
