My friend is British-born Indian and thinks there are too many EU migrants in the UK?

Your friend is certainly not a racist for speaking out about mass immigration into the U.K. Political Correctness in Britain have made it a 'sin' to talk against this kind of subject
Being classed as 'racist' for speaking the truth.

The first wave of immigrants to descend to Britain in the late 1950s from Asia, have contributed to the economy.

Although, these new immigrants from Eastern Europe are not like there Asian counterparts because they are taking advantage of the system, and its not fair for everyone.

There is certainly nothing wrong with a little immigration, but the government have gone too far. That's why the country is going into public meltdown.

This is a problem with our membership of the EU. We can not have an immigration policy because we must abide by EU rules, for years we have benefited from the migration of commonwealth countries,many of which speak English, but now we must limit the numbers from there and allow "free movement" of EU citizens.
I say a British citizen is right to speak out, and I don't care if that citizen is black, brown, yellow or white.
Britain needs to make her own rules and say no to the EU.

how does she feel about the number of immigrants from india and pakistan? there are certainly more of these in my home town .......

her family are clearly making a useful contribution to our society but it is not the same for many from third world countries who come here for an easy life and live on the benefits provided by the tax payers of the UK

people who are not white are rarely accused of bigotry or racism but we all know that that is totally ridiculous

nip down to the Israel travel section to see the bigots and racists ......and many of them are not white...

she is now finding herself in the same position as white students from the UK and there are no quotas for finding them places .......positive discrimination has always disadvantaged white workers/students ....she is just finding out a little of how they have felt for years

The uk is a small island with limited housing and limited manual work.2 years ago people in the building trade were having to work 6/7 days a week and turn jobs down but today were having to look for work in other sectors ie: healthcare, engineering and factory work for minimum wage because the building trade has been flooded with cheap labour (cash in hand) from europe :( If you go a job centre all you can find is office work and specialist jobs!
Im starting to worry about our economy!
"Builders of Britain" lets go over to Poland and cripple their economy by working for next to nothing hehehe!

No it doesn't make any one racist, just because they believe that the immigration policy is detrimental to the nation.

You are not selectively attacking people on the basis of race its simply an opinion governing issues such as economics, housing, security etc etc.

The government and the current very open free market system is failing the people as it is not creating the jobs and renumeration that the people expect or in many cases require. Minimun wage does not meet the minimum living requirements for the average family. People are refusing to work.... the governments answer is bring people in that will work for less.

We are the people that the government serves they work for us we need to stop fearing them and start remindign them in a Democracy it is the people who are in charge not the state.

I'm not racist, i think like the indians the Poles are 2 of the most successful large immigrant groups. It's the other benefit scrounging groups we should be worried about.

It would help if england had an immigration policy. and old cr*p gets in these days and the country only gets worse. If you look on the news, nearly all the murders, vandalism, bombing etc. are all done by foreigners and it makes me sick.

Look who's talking. 40 or 50 years ago many people in Britain would have said the same thing about her. Many would love to send all non-whites back to wherever their ancestors came from. Many more are too timid to say what they really feel. I think that as a non-white Britisher, she should keep her mouth shut.

All people of what ever colour or race I know (who have lived here for at least 10 years) think there is too much immigration - quality of life dropping etc etc.

Not just EU but all immigration.

I take it she is British then? If so she has an entitlement to opinion and a right to express it. Her parents were immigrants and probably had to work very hard to get here and get to where they are now. The number of EU immigrants is now stifling but........is the original problem due to the number of employers/employment agencies employing direct from other EU countries? We must not allow ourselves to see immigrants as a problem but the system employed in raising their numbers. No your friend is not racist or xenophobic she a British citizen concerned about the plight of her country.
P.s I am a white Englishman.

First I am not a racist but the uk is overcrowed, lack of jobs, money for the NHS , schools and housing is due to the EU migrants.

Racist and bigot is a bit harsh, but ultimately she probably is xenophobic.
But is that really such a bad thing? Voicing concerns that foreigners are recieving benifits paid for by tax payers?

Its the people who go out and assault, rape and murder foreigners that should be thrown out off your country, they are the bigots and racists.

Its a tough question really, we don't mind the foreigners that provide rare skills or do jobs we don't want, but those that can replace us at varsity or in employment we deem a threat?

Ultimately, I gues each persons choice in attitude should be their own, and we should respect their decision.

I know that this answer will be seen as being a wee bit infantile but even the Euro-vision Song Contest was a farce this year because of Eastern European grot holes voting for each other. Russia supposedly won the day and this is from a community of hovel dwellers who hold lottery draws to win a bag of spuds!

What people seem to forget is the migration rates are also rising (I buggered off out of UK years ago)
Also the fact that there are probably as many 'Jeremy Kyle' white trash scroungers as there are immigrant scroungers.

Well firstly let me start off and say i know exactly where shes coming from.

I myself am British Indian and a student. I know so many people who come over trying to apply for Asylum and mean while make a quick buck no matter who they rob and then send the money back home. They even get work Visas to work here and more or less have permission to rob and con people.

This country is going down the pan so to speak because of all these people.

My grandfather came over here because he was in the Indian army and was granted to be here because he fought long and hard to make the world we have today.

So it doesn't make you racist because its unbelievably true and everybody knows it.

There is no such thing as a 'British born Indian'!!!! She is either British or Indian.....You can't be both!!!.... It's that sort of lefty thinking that has ruined OUR once great Country!!!!!!!!

A plenty of British students go abroad every year, in other EU countries and nobody complains.
The problem is not the European "invasion", but the Asian rise. India, China, Pakistan send plenty of their best students to Europe (the UK included) every year. They come here, learn what they need, go back home and **** us up. Your beloved UKIP and its "Empire nostalgia" , will never understand that the countries of Europe need to operate together to resist the rise of the Asian superpowers: we live in the 21st century, not in the 19th. It's due to economic and political questions, all the rest is just an issue for old, fat white men (racist? Yes, they are. Your Indian friend shouldn't sympathise with them).

I think the increase in UKs immigration stems from Great Britan collonising the world initially. Once Britain colonised a country, the people were welcomed into Britian, which specially during the industrial revolution made Britain one of the wealthiest countries on the planet. Now however, it turns out there are far too many Immigrants, may it be due to the recent EU expansion, or previous countries Britain colonised and we accepted their people. The popular saying; You reab what you saw! Fact is, it is part of globalisation, and fact is it will take a couple of generations to get used to it. It doesn't help that most desicions are made in Brussels, but I would say being German, the UK is not the only country facing a immigration dilemma. The only solution I can suggest is get used to it and adapt!

your friend does become a racist since she is discriminating one set of people from other,but on the other hand I would have to say that she is a mean spirited person as well to think like the way she thinks. while her parents have been migrants themselves, she sees problem with others getting there and the reasons she uses for justifying are also not right. whether her parents worked harder or the recent immigrants are not so hard working is a subject matter for intense debate and one cannot come to conclusion like the way she has. You may argue the immigrant policy is right or wrong but you may not put the blame on the immigrants themselves - unless they are getting there illegally or doing any illegal activities - probably you understand what I mean.

This whole nation is founded on Immigrants and has been so since pre-history. Without them the economy would have collapsed centuries ago and we would have been invaded! Ooer, more immigrants........
