My girl friend lives IN USA and she is Citizen of USA she wants me to go USA and marry her..if i marry her that does it mean i ll get american citizenship without any more troubles?? what else i have to do please help me?

DO NOT get an immigration lawyer. You will be wasting money. You and your girlfriend can do the entire thing yourselves, just gather good relationship evidence, go to VisaJourney.com and follow the Guides to the letter to file a K-1 Fiance Visa petition (she'll have to be your fiance at this point, not your girlfriend). If you hire a lawyer, you will be paying a lot more than if you went through the process without one, as the fee for K-1 is $455, and Adjustment of Status (filing for a work permit and Green Card after the wedding) is $1010.
It typically takes 6 months from K-1 filing to interview (although it could be a lot less), but it will save you A LOT of trouble if you file for a Fiance Visa, versus if you come to the States on a Tourist Visa, marry and then have to prove with GOOD evidence and explanation (during the Adjustment of Status interview) that you didn't enter on a Tourist Visa with intent to marry (a BIG no-no with Immigration).
After you get your Green Card, you are eligible to apply for citizenship after three consecutive years of living with your wife in the U.S. This means you cannot live in the U.S. for one year, leave for two, and then come back and apply.

It doesn't work that way. You do NOT automatically become a citizen just because you marry a citizen.
You will need to get an Immigration Lawyer, have lots and lots of money, fill out 10 lifetimes worth of paperwork, have more patience than you could ever imagine. Not to mention have the INS in your life at every turn, making sure your marriage is not one of convenience.
And this is all before citizenship is even offered.

She has to apply for a K1 visa before you come to the USA. Expect it to cost her about $3,000 and take about 8 months. Because you cannot work when you first come, she also has to prove she makes enough money to support both of you. |
