I think youve done a really lovely thing. I always think it must be so hard for some of these people who are working here from poland or wherever,they are away from their families,English is not their first language,it must be difficult,Id hate to do it,so yes,that was lovely of you. |

I think you did a very good deed. Well done. That man will remember what you did for him and it will colour his view of this country and our people. He won't brand us all a load of baddies. What goes around does eventually come around. A long time ago at work, I was nice to someone's wife. No big deal. Many years later, the man was in an important job with a choice of contractors to use. He used my company because I'd been kind to his wife and I got a bonus. I'd completely forgotten my good deed - but he hadn't. Good on you. |

What defines a good deed? People approve of so called good deeds because it benefits them or society.

The issue of immigration is one for politiicians to decide. It shouldn't prevent anyone from doing a good deed, and helping someone in need. Which is what you have just done. Good on you. |

If you are helping a legal immigrant then I applaud you for your service. If you are helping an illegal I hope they put you in jail for harboring and aiding a criminal. |

Why are you doubting what you have done? If you think that you have done a good deed then why are you questioning it. If the man was grateful for your services then consider it a job well done. As long as he knows that they are the only services you are offering!!! |

I'm sure you did a good thing.
Personally I am not happy with the amount of Polish etc coming here - you will see from a previous post how badly my partner and I are struggling and competition from Eastern Europe is not helping us one bit. You said that your partner had a good job and so I guess Polish immigration is not affecting you in that way, and you are OK about it.
Me personally I would not have helped. I would have wanted to see him go home to his wife and kids and free up a job for someone like my partner. But as you are no doubt OK financially and not in the situation we are in I'm sure you are not bothered by Easter EU immigration. Its all a matter of perspective. |
