Lost or Stolen Green Card: If your Green Card is lost or stolen, you should file for a replacement immediately.

You must obtain a form from the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) called INS Form I-90.
You can get this form by calling the INS at (800) 870-3676 or by using the INS website at
http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/i-90.htm.
Application Form: You must fill out form I-90 by either typing or printing with black ink. Read the instructions
carefully and mark any items that donâ€™t apply to you as â€œN/Aâ€. In addition to Form I-90, you must submit
certain documents as part of your application for a replacement card.
Initial Evidence: You must submit what the INS calls â€œInitial Evidenceâ€. This refers to documents that prove
that you are who you say you are.
â€¢ If you still have your previous card (and are replacing it because it was damaged) you may use that
as your Initial Evidence.
â€¢ If you lost your card or it was stolen, but you have a photocopy, you should submit it with your
application.
â€¢ If you donâ€™t have a copy of your card and are at least 18 years old, you must file your application with
a copy of some â€œidentity documentâ€ such as a driverâ€™s license, passport, non-driver ID card or birth
certificate.
Photos: You must submit two passport-style photos (in color) with your application. Lightly print your A# on
the back of each photo with a pencil.

Have you filed for the renewal of your green card already? (if you said it's expired)

I believe that the I-9 (the legal form you need to fill in when you're hired in a workplace) request for
EITHER your green card
OR your SS Card AND your driver's license (or any for of ID) but both of these.

The HR office for each workplace can reserve their rights to ask you for more proof though, and you have 3 business days to bring more proof (i think).

Good luck, but if you had a green card I would encourage you to ask for a replacement or a renewal (if it was expired).
