if you are all here illegally you should not qualify for financial aid.i have a nephew born here in the usa to parents also born in the usa and does not qualify for much financial aid so my sister and her husband are actually considering getting divorced so he can qualify so i feel no sympathy for you whatsoever |

I don't know a lot about this situation and I don't believe you gave enough information, so this question might not be answerable, but I'll do my best.
I can sum it up in two parts;
1. I don't believe there is a away around it, so you need to become an citizen or go to college without a scholarship. I don't know the rules of college attendance so that should be figured out before anything else.
2. Suggestion, if really want a scholarship, you can get it, you just need to do what it takes and that applies to anyone. "Every opposition, is gained experience." |

If this is for real, just keep asking, or go downtown in the nearest big city and ask around. You CAN get help, you just have to ask the right people. Who knows, maybe someone else on here can give you a more definitive answer. |

Most illegals don't make enough money to pay taxes enough to cover their children's education costs ($10,000 per year per child in California not counting new school construction costs.) Unless your parents were very unusual illegal immigrants, you have already taken a whole heap of funds intended to educate our own children. Not that you at 3 did anything wrong, but why should you get benefits like in state tuition or funding before our own children? Getting those funds is the difference between our own children being able to attend college or not, and we, their parents, paid the taxes all of our lives to make those funds available.
It isn't as if all of our own children have enough funds to go to college, and there is 'extra' left over.
I feel badly for your situation, but not so much that I think you should take more from the kids who should not have had to share their education funds up to this point, already. |

Sorry to say but you will have to apply for citizenship.
My Mr. has another opinion of this. He wonders if you are willing to join our army? He is also asking why should he pay your way to college. This is what financial aid and scholarships are. Fact is you have the GPA and the SAT scores you have obtained for free from the American people.....
Besides what my Mr. is saying I would find out how to get your citizenship to become a American. Right now your family is not here legally and should try at least to become legal. Otherwise looking over your shoulder is something you will have to get used to. They seam to be cracking down on the illegal people recently. We had a family on the news the boy like you had been here since tiny. He was deported a long with his other family members.

First of all your parents should of had you born in the U.S since they came in illegally, you would of been a citizen. And there is not much you can do to get a green card legally other than apply for the green card lottery each year. But i am not too sure if you will encounter any problems from applying for the green card lottery since your parents are illegal. Try going back to your native country and applying from there. |

Where do you want to go to college and what would be your major?
The prohibition against scholarships do not apply to privately granted scholarships.
For example, I (or anyone else) could grant you a scholarship and it still be tax deductable for me or whoever.
The only prohibition is that it could not be tailor exclusively for you. However, general requirements can be included.
For example, a scholarship could be offered and you could be granted it, if it was for spanish speaking students with a 3.8 or better GPA and 1200 or more SAT score and the student was going to study say teaching.
The scholarship committee would chose who among those who applied, would get the scholarship.
Email your ambitions and I will talk to my sister (who knows scholarships) and see what she thinks.
