My wife is from abroad, she is here on a UK marriage visa. I want to know if I claim student finance will it affect her application to remain in this country or not, when she applies to stay in 2 years time.
I am not sure if student finance is a public fund, can anyone please clarify this for me.

You should be fine - I don't think Student finance is a public fund; only students get it. Public funds are like signing on, income support, housing benefit; stuff everybody can apply for, if they meet the means test. |

My wife is an EU national and I got finance, however Im not sure about none EU. I think the best people to ask is the UK Borders Authority and also the Local Education Authority. |
