My wife owns me and my life, because she gave me a greencard.?

I graduated from college a year back with my Accounting degree and then got married. My wife helped me get my greencard. I work two jobs to make ends meet, while my wife is on disability. We recently moved to a new place(on sunday-which I bought), and i worked late on monday and tuesday. When I got home, she told me how I never contribute anything around the house, and all I do is work. She also told me that she owns me and everything I have, because she gave me my greencard. And that if she hadnt given me my greencard, I would be on the streets of India begging. I admit that I do work a lot (about 55 hours a week) as I want us to have a better life, and I am VERY underpaid (11.86/hr for an accountant- there are no jobs around here; the town she lives in). I dont know what to do.

I am also in an interacial marriage. I am indian(from india) and she is White. It seems like no matter what I achieve in life, White skin is always better, and for some reason I am just a "terrorist" savage from a third world country.

i am an indian and my 2nd cousin is in states since last 11 yrs.He also got green card the way you got it and he faced same problem from his wife back then(she is not disable though).rest all issues were kind of same.

Once you are in a relationship you have to work out the way.Love is not about taking it is about giving,giving all that you have with out ever thinking of a return,This is a VERY VERY difficult path to follow (especially in todays world - lets be realistic)but the one that leads to a fulfilled life mentally, financially and spritually.

why i am saying this to you is that you are from India and our family values and traditions are very strong.you would understand what i mean to say here.This might seem out of context or submissive to others but to an Indian this will make sense.

But the results were so good after 3 years my brother wife came to India and was with us.There family life is so good and happy(touchwood) she is more like our part then my brother is.twice in a year she is here,attends to all famliy functions.there kids are happy and it is like a perfect family.She is still an american and follows both way of life perfectally.

The magic that worked was LOVE and being selflessy dedicated to your family life.

one-you make sure you have a perfect balance between work and time devoted to her.

second-Do noy underestimate your self(third world,terorist,white skin,etc) this will give rise to negetive thoughts and negetive mind cannot ever lead to positive result.

third-every problem is unique and you are the first party,you have to work for a solution.

she is emotionally controlling you, and if things don't work out, it is not the end of the world. There is nothing wrong with going back to India. Its probably better than making 11/hr and getting manipulated at the same time. This is what they dont teach men from India when the glamorize marrying a gori. You are going to have problems, serious ones, especially if she leaves you, there is a possibility you will go back to india. Now you see that maybe indian women are not that bad after all. When you say "white skin is always better" that mentality of yours put your white wife on the Pedestal so now she is taking advantage of your weekness. I dont think youre a savage from a 3rd world country. No race is better than the other. Everyone has their pros and cons. So tell her if she wants to leave she can, most likely she wont since she is mooching of you and vice versa. Sorry to say, but please face reality when you have an interracial relationship. There is nothing wrong with that but please dont complain when you use white stereotypes to begin with.

I got my papers through my husband and just graduated with a Engineering Degree, and he graduated too. He never tells me those things. Maybe you should think about what she said because that is awfull thing to said. YOu deserve better than this

Not true, my friend. If you were to get a divorce, there would yes, be a possiblility of having your citizenship revoked, but I think we have a good relationship with the Indian consulate, so getting a work visa would be no big deal. Try talking to her to make her understand. Mostly, if she is on dissability, shes just lonely because shes home all day alone. Maybe try doing something special this weekend to show her that you care about her, and by working so much you're just trying to make her life better.
