I can't believe that you think everyone goes around every day breaking laws thinking "ok, I'm gonna do what I want, and purposely break laws all the time and hope I don't get caught"

People just don't think that way. It's more likely the opposite of that. How many people do you see daily running red lights? Or stealing? Doesn't happen, that's why. Most people know the law and do not go around looking for ways to subvert the law.

Except for illegals. They know they are here illegally, and subvert and ignore our laws in OUR country daily. I don't care what country you're from, if you're here illegally, times up, you can't blame us for you being here ILLEGALLY!

EDIT: If you know me so well, then tell me what law I have broken recently. I set my cruise control on the SPEED LIMIT and watch everyone as they pass me. I even had a cop give me a dirty look the other day as he was radaring me as I went by him at exactly the speed limit.

I don't steal money, I don't beat, hurt or kill people, I don't duck my taxes, I don't rob banks, shoplift or knowingly commit any kind of fraud.

Any way you shake it, every country in the world has laws on their books addressing people who are in their countries illegally. Mexico has some of the toughest. Tell me, if I were caught in Mexico without a passport, would I be deported to the U.S., or would I sit in a Mexican prison until I was either murdered or died of natural causes?

It isn't passing the border that is the issue, it is daily taking things for their family like education at $10,000 per child per year from our children. With 3 kids, over 12 years each, that isn't petty theft.

Carol is wrong regarding those who come illegally, though. It is a misdemeanor the first time, and a felony the second time.

ADDITION: I would like to hear how you explain that they are not criminals since using your own definition of a criminal I proved that they are. Come on your own words lable them as a criminal. By the way speeding isnt a crime it is a moving violation in traffic section. If found guilty you would not have to answer yes on an application for employment to the question have you ever been convicted of a crime.

Most illegal aliens are law abiding, however allowing millions to flow across our borders unchecked is a threat. They are subject to deportation and rightly so. If your illegal don't go to Irving, TX they have already deported 1% of their city's population.

Well, technically anyone that breaks a law is a criminal. People who enter the country illegally are thus considered criminals by definition because they didn't go threw the proper channels to get here.

Its not a moral judgment against the person when it comes to law. Therefore I wouldn't say that illegal immigrants are "evildoers" or anything of that nature, I am well aware many of them are just regular folks. But if they are to live here in the USA they ought to make themselves legal residents, both for their own good and for the good of this country.

You are aware that many business take advantage of people who are illegal because they can get away with paying them really dirt cheap wages and not providing them with health care, etc? This is also very bad for American citizens who end up loosing their jobs because businesses end up hiring illegals? It hurts the economy. Its not good for anyone involved (except the businesses who line their pockets with money.)

Hypocrite! Aww now that just really hurts my feelings (sarcasm intended). Yes I do speed occasionally. Yes speeding is a violation of the law. If I get caught speeding I expect to face the consequences of my actions and I will pay the fine.

Now what does the net effect of my transgression impose on society? Answer: Zero. This cannot be said of illegal aliens who do represent a significant drain on the public purse, as well as increased criminal activity and security risks.

StoneCold: I will accept your point, but I must counter with this. Those things are just as likely if someone isn't speeding statistically speaking. Driving a car carries inherent risks of danger which may or may not occur. Just for the record when I do speed, it is rarely more than 10 over the posted limit. However, there is no doubt that illegal aliens represent a drain on resources. Now some would counter that some of them offset that the cost incurred by pay taxes. True, but they do so using false documentation which causes a burden and potential financial liability to the person whose identity was stolen. Not to mention that this is an additional crime. I only state this because it happened to a friend whose identity was stolen. They were audited by the IRS because it was believed they had under-reported their income. My real purpose was just to illustrate the absolute silliness of the asker's stated position. I certainly am not making light of tradegies which can result from serious collissions.

And that "you broke the law once" argument is absolute bunk. a speeding ticket is not on the same level as illegal entry into the country. even if we drove 300mph every time we went out.

also, did you know: there are MANY highways with speed limits of 65mph or more.

The other reason I can tell them to leave is that, when I get a speeding ticket, I accept the consequences. I don't hide behind the "I'm a good person" argument or "Its a human right to speed."

You called them illegal yourself, which implies they broke a law to get here, which they did. I understand that not all illegal aliens are bad people, but there is a legal way for them to become citizens. They become productive members of society, pay taxes like the rest of us etc.

One major problem with them is the fact that they get so many of our services for free. They have to be assisted, by law, if they go to the ER, for humanitarian reasons, even if they can't pay. Their children get medical coverage, attend schools, etc. and they aren't paying for it.

Because they are undocumented, we don't know if the ones here are the safe hardworking ones or the murderers that cut people up.

Living in the US is not a right that people have simply because they were born on earth. I think that these people should be deported immediately, and I think it is disgraceful that people like you support this sort of activity. I know our country was founded by immigrants, but they were granted legal entry. If you are so worried about the treatment of illegal immigrants, I think you should have a chat with President Fox and work on their policies, because they're not nearly as lenient as we are.

To enter the US you need a valid passport and a valid visa to live and work in this country.
~Do they have rights to be here in the US? to be handed US citizenship or a green card on a plate? NO!

They did not follow the current law to enter the country, why should they be rewarded for this action?

Also, just for one moment think of all the LEGALS who follow the law to enter this country, who can not work because they are not on a work visa but a dependent visa, are not able to obtain a SSN, can not claim any social benefits, hold a credit card in their own name, unless it is a secondary credit card. Have to leave the country within 90 days if the main visa holder dies and they are on a dependent visa. Is this fair to the LEGAL?

Have to go through HIV tests TB test, education background checks, police checks, just to be in this country? Is that fair to those people?

Illegals are demanding they should be at the head of the line, but you know what the government needs to give better treatment to all the LEGALS in this country, who have to wait years for green cards. And to the US citizens who have to wait years to get their family in the country.

I understand you have a girlfriend (reading your other questions) who is an illegal, but, guess what? she is illegal she broke the law, either by entering with out a visa or overstaying on a visa. No matter how you try and look at the situation; she is in the wrong for doing that.

This concept that you have that 'everyone breaks the law so no laws matter' is insane. Basically you are saying forgive everyone fro breaking laws because some one else is breaking another law anyway...so let's take your idea a step further.

Okay real simple did the "immigrant" come over to the U.S. through the established legal means? If no, then falls outside the legal definition into illegal.

Heck, my grandmother was an illegal immigrant 80 some odd years ago. She was afraid to leave the states because she wasn't sure she'd be allowed back in. She never even went to get her drivers license. She also happened to be from Canada.

Crossing the border and getting caught at the border is a Federal Offence punishable by law. Getting caught elsewhere in the United States is a misdemeanor, still punishable by law.

And it doesn't matter if an American happens to break the law in OUR country. Because they will be dealt with by OUR laws. As for the ALL the illegals that are here in the country, they do not have the luxury (for lack of a better term) to break United States Federal and Immigration policies. Because they have no legal rights to be here in the first place according to those policies.

And you break the laws by aiding and abetting them too which happens to be a Federal offence, over the Americans who break laws deemed misdemeanors under the eyes of our laws that you are comparing them with. Federal offences carry much harsher punishments than the misdemeanors. So your comparisons are moot.

And dude someone always sees people breaking the laws. Most are too afraid to turn them in for fear of retaliation or worse. Because most career criminals won't take RESPONSIBILITY for there own actions and always BLAME others. And what others don't see... Like most on here say GOD ALWAYS DOES. To add... You are aware that there are different speed limits for different states? Montana for instance is 75MPH And if most are doing 65 in a 55 MPH and following the FLOW of traffic, most still don't get pulled over for that.

Answer: Zero" I'm only pointing this out because the majority of the ones who are speeding don't take into account that it is quite possible that they "might" have a blow out of a tire, or heart attack, or some other medical condition that would cause an accident, and mame or kill another. Although rare this does happen. If only people would keep that in mind when they are speeding. I've seen it happen too many times on the road when I use to tranfer vehicles for car rental agencies. Even some of our own drivers would end up in those kinds of accidents. So please don't minimize to not having an effect on society as zero.

Edit - Bryan, totally understood with your additonal point as well. We can agree that the extra crowding on our highways and bi-ways certainly don't help. Not to mention the American, and illegals teenagers coming of age to join us experienced drivers. ugh.....

Actually being an undocumented alien is a misdemeanor in the US.

Speeding is also a misdemeanor so both violations are just as bad.
