The Federal Government says there are some 8 to 11 million illegal aliens in the United States. Everyone else says, and probably correct in my opinion, there are considerably more.

But per the movement to far better jobs after they are amnestied, you are very correct. The whole amnesty business is another ponzi scheme and in fact, Obama seems to have totally abandoned his honesty and transparency theme for party politics in depth.

We no longer have a party representing the American People. We only have parties representing groups of people in the United States, and I believe we are in for a long ugly haul now.

Don't worry,the next batch of 12 million are just waiting to cross the border to take the jobs of those who will now be legal and will have to be paid a legal wage. Employers love cheap labor and will rely on more illegals to cross over to take over the jobs.
More people on welfare when those 12 million already here lose their jobs and more welfare when the new batch comes over and has a few kids to lap up some more benefits.

when they become citiznes their wages wil go up to 8 dollars and americans wages will go up 3 to 5 dollars an hour as well

Amnesty is for the people that are already here and in good standing, and these people are the hard working people that pump BILLIONS into our economy every year.....that's why they are pushing for Amnesty! If the economy is bad right now, it'll only get worst if all illegal where deported, and many more US companies would crash. The Hispanic Illegals are part of the Hispanic Purchasing Power that expected to reach $1TRILLION by 2011......get rid of them, and we won't see this huge number.

There's many different issues and predictions that can be made surrounding a path to legalization for illegal immigrants. Since we have no clear way of knowing exactly how this would be done, it is difficult to make predictions or discuss detailed possible outcomes.

Regarding the potential for new voters, we only have an estimated 12 million illegal aliens currently residing in the United States. The extra nine million (21 minus 12) could come from those US citizen family members of illegal aliens, or voters who support immigrants, although I don't know how the number nine million was arrived at.

Since only US citizens can vote, the illegal aliens would have to become citizens first. This is a process not likely to happen quickly, to put it simply. First, we need to actually pass a bill through Congress and have the President sign it. That will take time. Then we need to actually go through the process of registering people and making them legal where eligibile. This will definately take time. THEN the immigrant would have to later qualify for naturalization (citizenship). At present time, generally the quickest time for most legal immigrant residents to become eligible for citizenship is three years. For most cases, the time is currently five years. There will also be a backlog of applications approximately five to six years after legal status is granted to many immigrants, and this backlog will slow things down. Therefore, it is probable that Obama will no longer be running for any kind of office by the time new immigrants can vote.

There is a chance that Democrats could reap the benefits of the voters, however. This could benefit the Democrat candidate for President. We don't know this for sure though because we don't know how exactly the bill will pass and what it will contain if it does.

Don Clark Jr. you are a genius lol and i agree completely. there are many illegal immigrants that pay their taxes and claim them, however they cant get all the benefits such as that of a us citizen. Millions of undocumented workers just want to make an honest living. They are not all drug dealing criminals!!!

You guys need to learn the law before saying anything which makes you guys look stupid. 1st. Amnesty gives perminet residency and NOT citizenship 2nd. Only citizens can VOTE. Green card holders CAN'T. 3rd. It takes 5 years after getting green card or perminent res to apply for citizenship. The vast majority of undocumented ppl hold A bachelor degree alot even hold Master Degrees yet work in the back rooms of your fav restaurant. Millions pay taxes and don't claim the returns which pumps Millions back into the economy. If Obama gives amnesty it's going to the undocumenteds that don't have a criminal record and whom are attending school or already did. The ones who would benifit to the country. The ones who would create jobs since they would already qualify to own and start a business and hire Americans. Being undocumented is a violation and not a crime. They ate not savages. They are the ones cooking your foods, washing your clothes, looking after your babys and families. Undocuments don't get grants or hand outs from the gov. They get payed little money and try make a living.

i hope obama makes illegal immigrants legal because there is no one here to do the work that they do.and also they pay taxes just like we do.but can not get nothing back because of no ss#.so the us is making money off of them.so yes obama do the right thing....and the ones talking about no to illegal immigrants let them do the work that they do in fields and everthing....but you know that will never happen because they can not handle it............................
