You are right. There are many wonderful, educated and moral people in Mexico. I think that the best are still in your beautiful country. We, unfortunately, have the criminal element ...those who think laws don't apply to them. It's not fair to compare someone like you and your countrymen to these people, just as it isn't fair to compare them to legal immigrants.

You are entirely correct in calling us on that. It's certainly not fair to assume that all Mexicans are like those who sneak over our borders and plunder our system. I'm really glad that you spoke up! I wish you the very best. A star for you!

One of the things here, is that many generalizations are made. It's far easier to generalize and make a one sentence inflammatory statement, than to actually post an intelligent discussion.

It's entertaining for some people, and interesting for most. Take many things with a grain of salt here, and you'll do fine.

You can also tell the trolls from the intelligent discussioner folk. Though sometimes we all have our days... :D

to me its the illegal part that bothers me. I don't have anything against mexicans, or people from any other country. But all i say is if you are in this country, you should follow the laws which are set up. I see what is happening right now, and its almost to the point where it is better to be an illegal then a us citizen.. which is wrong..

Well it goes along the lines of not so much what you in your country have done to us in the USA. But rather what your country is doing to your own people that cause them to come here illegally. That's what upsets the majority of Americans.

I mean when another country from down under has a Latin Organization upset too. That says quite a lot to me.

I live in Mexico also, and have tried to let some people know it's nothing like they think. I would encourage any Gringo's to come and spend some time down here, not in the tourist areas, but in the real Mexico. I live in the sierra's in central Mexico and I know people who have lived in usa, moved back and simply do not want to ever go back there again.

You would do well not to generalize too much yourself, Friend.
Most of us have no problem with LEGAL visitors and/or immigrants to this country. We only get hot under the collar about ILLEGAL aliens.
And we don't necessarily blame those illegals exclusively either.
Most of our vitriol is aimed at those who refuse to acknowledge the harm - and danger - millions of undocumented 'visitors' can and do cause. They are already a huge drain on our social services to the detriment of those here legally and one shudders to think of what the future holds in store if the drain on our magnanimity continues unabated.

I personally have a home in GDL (Guadalajara) and enjoy going there. I am a US citizen born from naturalized US citizens. I do not like that people think that TJ and Cancun are examples of how all of Mexico is. It is the bad, law breaking immigrants that put all of Mexico in a bad light. But then Mexico also has a president currently who is blaming the US for all if not most of Mexico's economical/immigration issues.

The poor in Mexico don't seem to have a support system like the US does with our Welfare system.

I saw an episode of THIRTY DAYS on the FX channel where a member of the US Minute Men spent 30 days with an illegal family. He learned that the family came over because living conditions over here in the US were significantly better than their little village. He even went and visited the family's family in Mexico and saw how they used to live with their contaminated well for water and all.

It is too easy to come across illegally and get "lost" in our country. Lost as in be able to survive and live without being found. Especially when the Mexican Consulate in Mexico issue out books on how to cross into the US and survive illegally.
