Because this country's corporations want profit but now these undocumented immigrants are being scapegoated by bitter Americans who want that money to stay in America. It doesn't matter that the American Dream is paraded around the world and that these immigrants feel that America is the only place that they can make a live for themselves, it doesn't matter that the immigration policies are corrupt so they can't gain access, Americans don't want anymore brown people getting anything. Why else would they target the Mexican border and not the Canandian border where 50% of undocumented immigrants cross? And thats the sad truth |

When law breakers are caught they have a penalty to pay. For an illegal immigrant that means they get sent back to where they came from. Are you trying to say that it is okay to break the law? There are consequences for choices that you make in life. If you choose to speed, you can get a speeding ticket. Your insurance will probably go up. If you get caught often enough you loose your license. The illegal aliens chose to enter the country by illegal means. When they are caught they also have to pay the penalty. I think the process to get green cards needs worked on. If there is that large of a demand for workers there should be enough green cards issued to fill it. |

I believe that keeping our borders secure is important but as long as big business invites men and women to work their farms, mow their lawns, take care of their children, landscape their property, and build their homes it will never happen. The government knows who hires workers from the south but will never do anything about it. Remember business is addicted to cheap labor. And what about the cost to the economy. Is everyone willing to pay more for their homes, food, and childcare. I think not. There is no easy answer but inviting workers to your country to work on the cheap then arresting them is not the answer. Until the USA gets serious about removing the enticement for cheap laborers the problem will continue. |

Thank you I was wondering who would ask that question. True How can these upright law abiding citizens put others down? Could it be they are tring to jusify thier own wrong doings? |

Plenty are breaking the law. We don't need it. We like our laws and wish more were enforced. Thankfully it is happening more. And I agree NOT ALL OF US BREAK THE LAW.
Send them back-all of them. |

illegal immigrants are breaking the law when they walk across our borders how can you compare that with a traffic ticket they are knowingly walking across our nations borders by the thousands without our consent in any other country it would be called an invasion this is a real problem dont be using our laws to defend someone thats not suppose to be here in the first place actually our laws shouldnt even apply to the illegals |

Oh! The Humanity!

Bingo...my sentiments exactly. Who are all of these anti-Hispanic racists who go around pretending that they're as pure as the driven snow?
Sheesh...they make more freakin' laws in this country every fifteen minutes that I can't brush my friggin' teeth anymore without violating some Federal law.
Also, how come it's all of a sudden so darned "Patriotic" to pay as much tax as you can and it's a badge of honor to demand a passport in order to work on a cotton farm?
More power to the underground economy. (And "they" say illegals are the "stupid" ones?!)
Whew...throttle back to engine idle.... |

Yeah, you're right. Rape, murder child molestation are just like getting a traffic ticket. Get a grip on reality. |

actually most don't have passports, but anyway,
they are illegal aliens ( not immigratns) and yes if you do something illegal you pay your fine or you go to jail, why don't you want them to go to jail to be sent back for breaking the law, they are here, that is the illegal activitiey
If I was in Mexico illegally, I would be in jail faster than a chicken on a june bug. |

Because they're not traceable. Many of the illegal immigrants have fake ID's and if they commit a crime (not talking about a speeding ticket) it's hard to track them down. |

You have got to be kidding. There is no comparison here. |

Some of us do get traffic tickets, but we do pay for it. All illegals broke our immigration laws by being here illegally.
And only a few are getting deported. Illegals don't have US passports; they have passports of their home countries. And employers whos hire illegals also broke the laws. |

No way! must be joking, i think illegal immigrants are more cautious about the law. A big number of immigrants come into any other country just for enhancing their economical condition not for commit crimes. It's not easy to orient them at all, because they all are badly off other wise there is no cause to leave their own country, they are here just for making money for being well of for their children and other family members you must understand their emotions don't neglect them they are also human being just like you but from a poor country so must place them in your country God is watching every thing and i think immigrants are more hard worker because they are struggling to live here. |

Some of them steal someone else Identity. Which is a felony. A speeding ticket is not. |

So you are compare a civil offense(traffic ticket) to a criminal offense? Nice logic. Again, your 5 year old intellect is showing through.... |

Minutemen beating, robbing, and raping ALLEGED illegals (not to mention operating meth labs in remote desert locations) are committing felonies. Plus, they're engaged in a conspiracy to commit these crimes. Where is the justice for these neo-Nazis? It's long overdue for a federal grand jury to investigate Jim Gilchrist, Chris Simcox, and the rest of these un-American thugs. |

yes if we break the law there is a ticket and a fine we all must pay why is there so much focus on the illegals maybe because they are breaking the law and demanding that the law look the other way, and why shouldnt they pay their fine and obey the law and come legal? |

Because all illegal immigrants have broken the law ... by being here illegally, they have broken our immigration laws, to a man! Do you mean that because American citizens and legal immigrants also break the law, that we should allow this invasion of illegal immigrants go unchecked?? Whether illegals pay traffic fines or not is a moot point ... what you're basically saying is that it doesn't matter a damn if all of the illegals have ALREADY broken the law ... may I ask why we have immigration laws then? Or do you advocate we break the law? In that case, why should anyone follow ANY laws? |

People who break the law need to be prepared to pay the penalty, such as the traffic ticket, or the jail sentence.
Illegal immigration isn't just a one time border crossing offense, however, it is an ongoing pilfering of education funds and other services when they are not legally here to begin with. That is totally apart from identity theft and failure to pay taxes, etc.
We subsidize education and services for poor people which is why we limit the number of poor people who can legally come. Those who break our laws to come here illegally steal those services and drive down education quality and health care in areas where illegals concentrate.
All those who are opposed to amnesty are saying is that, just like with the traffic ticket and jail sentence, illegals should pay the penalty on the books for the laws they broke.
If they stay they continue to drain education fund and services which are failing already. That is the issue.
mweller 1956 give any evidence at all to support your libel of the Minutemen. |

Just by being in the US illegally they have broken the law. |

There are many laws, traffic, criminal..etc. But getting a traffic ticket doens't mean you aren't supposed to be living in this country...being a illegal immigrant does. You care comparing apples to oranges. |

I guess it's you who doesn't see the "big picture". Illegal aliens in the USA do NOT pay taxes, they are a burden on the school systems due to sending their kids to the school yet pay no taxes to pay for their education. Speaking of traffic tickets, if an illegal is driving and hits your car, 8 out of 10 illegals carry NO auto insurance, guess who pays for any damages.... that's right, EVERY law abiding citizen that has auto insurance ends up paying for it, increases in insurance rates cover the losses of insurance companys. Health insurance for illegals? Not hardly, 9 out of 10 illegals carry no health insurance because they know if they go to a hospital they HAVE to get treatment, and it's the average citizen that ends up paying for it thru higher premiums. Let's see, how about undocumented child molesters living in your neighborhood, illegals simply do not register as child molesters like ALL criminal pedophiles have to do in the USA. So this means there could be murderous, sick perverted pedophiles living illegally in your neighborhood right now, but because YOU don't want to be seen as unprogressive, they will never be known until it's too late. Illegal immigration hurts everyone, especially those immigrants who came here legally. |

True, true, and thanks for pointing that out! I got my first ticket when I was 18 for failing to stop, am I a menace to society? NO! |

Enough do who are not suppose to be here. We have a right to protect what we can-we owe our people that.
If you break the law-you need to face the consequents.
Laws are for protection. I like them.
And to others-I don't even litter-give me a break-we don't all break the law!!!
Change your friends if that is all you see! |

Their first act in entering the country is breaking the law. Plus if you go to jail, you are there at the tax payers expense. I don't like paying for our own citizens much less people who are not suppose to be here any way. We do not need to import people to break our laws. |
