Okay so today is 4/23/09 and my card expires the 19th of May (next month) along with my Drivers license, which expires the same date.
Is it better to renew my green card or just apply for citizenship????
how long are both of the processes ?

You can NOT become a US citizen without having a valid green card. Therefore you will have to renew your green card because it will take a lot longer to get citizenship than 1 month.
The time it takes to process your request for a replacement green card is about 4 months except for the California service center which is 6 months. |

if you can nafford it, do both becasue if you drive for your busines then you cant drive with an expired license and the GC must be current or you may get into trouble.
They BOTH must be renewd ASAP.
If you had to choose, renew the GC first and then the DL |

my husband is going through the same thing...in our case we renewed his permanent resident card, and 4 months later we applied for citizenship.
we went to our lawyer, he did everything for us, and he even set up payment options so we didn't have to come up with the money all at once. |

it's way better to apply for a citizenship so you wont be bothered to renew it again and again...
renewing your card will take 2-3 months while applying for a citizenship will process like almost a year. applying for citizenship will cost you much money that renewing. |
