I agree with the fact that Polish immigrants are claiming benefits to the tune of 21million pound plus per year, for their dependents living back in Poland, that I don't condone or understand,I agree that small groups are out to exploit any opportunity that befalls them, to beg, steel or borrow,and I agree that it comes across that these said Poles get Preferential treatment, they I'm sure are guilty of many things,Their parents and grand parents however stood beside our fighting men during the second world war, they gave their lives so that this country could have freedom,their biggest crime is not being clever enough to get here before all the others,who didn't stand beside us when we needed them. there are a lot worse than the Polish living and mumping of the state,and as Malcolm rightly says's,the worst are yet to come. the Turks will be next, followed by ?, be loud be proud but be fair,I would rather have a pole fighting beside me than most of the others from Europe,
and I vote UKIP racist my a-se, some people bandy that word around like a war banner.

Thats a very generalised view which is wrong not all are the same. I am from the UK but where i live there alot of polish and other nationalities that work much harder than alot of people.

The asker sums up the ignorant generalist attitudes of some, but fortunately, not all, people in the UK. Most of whom vote for BNP or UKIP.

Using your bigoted view of the world, Polish people might ask "Why are all British people fat, lazy, have bad teeth, smell and drink 15 pints of beer everynight."

Although the askers question is an ignorant load of xenephobic tripe, it does point to the fact that these small islands are overcrowded and it is starting to generate problems. As in germany in the 1930's, bigots and fascists will begin to take their anger out on people who are "not like them" and tolerance will go out of the window causing a spiral of hate and violence. This is a problem of education; the problem being that people like the asker don't realise that most of the current residents of the UK are worse than those who enter the country.

Yes, within the migrant population, there will be some bad apples, but ignorant people (and those with a fascist political agenda) will tend to tar everyone with the same brush and ignore the fact that most immigrants are nice, law-abiding, hard working people

I'm sorry but your question is really ignorant, and I think your view is affected by racism. There are problems in all communities including the Polish one but we have to live in the world we live in (i.e. as a member of the EU in 2008) and make the best we can of that, and things aren't going to get any better by hating and generalising. Polish people are entitled to be here by law, they pay taxes and are therefore eligible for benefits when they need them, this is the basis of the welfare state that we all benefit from (again it's not perfect but that's not the fault of Polish People). I think you should treat others how you wish to be treated yourself.

EDIT: The only people Polish People get preferential treatment over are those who joined the EU later - Romania and Bulgaria. The A8 countries are those who joined at the same time, they are not priviliged over others.

Wow, that's harsh. I'm in Canada and the Polish people I know are some of the nicest, hardest working people I have ever met. They are so grateful to be here and I don't know of one that doesn't love and respect their new country. I'm shocked by the answers you are receiving.

Are you sure they are Polish?? They could be from anywhere. Anyway...hundreds, if not thousands of English people donÂ´t respect your rules either. They are on the dol too, they work on the side too, they drive without insurance too, they r involved in crime, are rude, loud and dirty. You are being very rude. I am from UK but even I am not so ignorant to think that it is ALL polish people and the rest living in the UK that are like that. There is a certain amount yes, but that does not mean there are not hard working decent ones too. Dont you think I'm right?

Sadly, we are seen as a soft touch by the world now and that means that all sort of unsavoury characters come here to take advantage of our benefit sysem and to hide behind our over zealous applicaiton of humn rights. Because the British are not 'racist ' it ultimately means we have no real defence against these predators-

Hey, get a grip okay? We (our ancestors) were all foreigners in our countries at one point (well most of us) .The Polish who I know are law abiding, friendly and work their fingers to the bone and aren't paid the ammount of money that they deserve. The UK and Poland are both part of the EU, I should hope if you ever have to leave your country and go somewhere else for a better life that people don't give you a hostile reception like you are doing to others.
