Everyone doesn't have to "sneak in". There are plenty of ways to come into this country legally. HOWEVER, in order to do so, you must be of good health, have no criminal background, be fingerprinted, be of a certain moral standard and be employable.
Temporary worker visas are easily available for employers who need agricultural or seasonal help. They are under utilized because it's cheaper to hire illegals. Of course, they haven't been checked for communicable diseases or criminal records. I'd suggest that people think about that before they frequent restaurants that hire illegals or contractors who give them access to your home.
There is a reason why people chose not to go the legal route -- whether it's that they have an arrest in the family, a drug issue, communicable diseases or just want to commit crimes while they are here and don't wish to be "on the radar". These aren't the immigrants that we need. |

We let in more than a million people legally every year, more than any other country in the world. Because we let in so many people, and so many poor people (typically through family relationships) and since we subsidize education and other services for poor people here, we limit how many poor we let in. They can't afford to pay the $10,000 per child per year it costs to educate a child here, for example, and that money is taken from the education of our own children, if they come above our legal quotas.
Their better life is at our expense.
All the same, we let in more than any in the world. |

Everyone doesn't have to sneak in or get kicked out, but the country can't handle everybody coming in at once. There'd be no jobs, facilities, housing, or anything else to support the influx of people if they just kept flooding in. Many many people immigrate into this country each year. My auntie and uncle and cousins all immigrated into the country a couple years ago, after wading through the laborious processes that were required. |

immigration isn't bad,
doing it illegal is what is bad
America is a free country but you have to enter legally.
what you hear on the news and stuff is about illegal immigration
that is what is bad. |

The freedom is what this country used to be - our freedoms are pretty much gone. We take in more immigrants than all other countries put together - how is that too strict? I am so sorry that the third world over-populated and can't support themselves but it is not our problem. |

We are a nation of laws.
if someone sneak in and disrespect our laws, I believe it's only fair to deport them. |

Immigration is not bad; Illegal ANYTHING is bad. Especially when the laws are too lax.
All told, the quotas we set on (LEGAL) immigration would be totally different if a genuinely catastrophic event occurred that took 2/3s of the global human population, including ours.
Reality is that since about 1935 that population has grown from 2 billion to nearly 7 billion. And no respected authority on the subject expects it to decline, but it might slow down.
No nation, doesn't matter how wealthy, could ever take on a billion people, unfamiliar with its local ways without just falling flat dead.
interesting...hmmmm..... |

it should be strict.
would you want another fiasco like when the Cubans came? that was a nightmare. the movie Scarface wasn't too far off the mark.
people have to be screened.
AND immigration is not a bad thing. illegal immigration is! |

I think the key is "The place of freedom for the citizen of USA"! Every country needs to have law to govern the land. Without law, our border will be wide open and anyone could enter include those who wants to do serious harm to us all. You think that we have strict law about immigration then you should check out the law in other countries. You do not have to look anywhere further than our neighbor (Mexico). |

Immigration is not bad (but then as a legal immigrant I would say that wouldn't I?). What is bad is uncontrolled immigration. We need to know who is in the country. That is why I destroyed a small Amazonian rainforest six years ago to give the INS all the information they could possibly want. I have no problem with that at all.
Immigration to the USA is not overly strict. In fact, as has already been observed, the rules are actually quite relaxed for anyone who chooses to do it properly. What annoys me is the 20-year delays for family members prepared to wait for a visa when some people talk of amnesty for those who enter illegally. Those waiting so long could fill the jobs vacated by illegals. No $10 lettuce, houses still get built and all the grotty jobs still get done. How do I know all this? Because, as a legal immigrant I have done those grotty jobs. That is how life is in the USA. Most immigrants have to earn a decent job. There is nothing at all wrong with that. |

Immigration is not bad. How sad that this is what our youth have come to think . Immigration is what started the USA, we are, and forever will be a melting pot.
Some Americans are upset at the amount of illegal immigration that has reached alarming numbers in the past several years. This is America's fault, our fault for making it possible, our fault for making it achievable to thrive here, and our fault for not stopping it.
Obviously the immigration laws are out of date-or there would not be this problem, yet many Americans do not want an immigration reform, out of fear of promoting more illegal immigration. |

Well not really because many people are coming to the U.S. so our population is growing dramatically and everyone is seeking a job. And for the people that are trying to sneak in i dont blame u because America is way better country but try China for a change....better economy and more freedom...that's why they are so rich =] |

thats a good question. mexico has more freedom because you can break the law anytime and you wont get caught. in the US there are to many laws. if you want freedom go to a latin american country or go to india. india has a true democracy because you can drive however you want without things or people telling you what to do |
