Should Australia stop immigration?

that depends on the individuals who wish to go to Oz and what there reasons for wanting to do so are.
australia is a beautiful country and I sincerely hope they dont have the same approach to immigration as the UK, as being a UK national who has visited Australia I can make a comparison as one has suffered a mass immigration exodus while the other one hasnt, also I can safely say the UK is going to change rapidly over the next decade due to over population from the promises of a multi-cultural utopia that thus far doesnt seem to show any signs of cohesion amongst the different people that now make up the UK but more worrying only the immigrants stand to gain from the situation,
Australia should use places like the UK as an example of such promises and thus make up there own mind of where they want to take there country in the future.
I'm not trying to come accross as a racist or a nationalist but the visual evidence i see on a daily basis tells me mass immigration doesnt work unless its properly thought out and the people coming in are rightfully checked out (sensible) and have something to bring to the table if not straight away can at least show there not here for the free ride at the indiginous populations expense/demise

No, definitely not.

Since January 1st, the only visas (apart from refugees and a few family categories) being processed are for people with employer or state government sponsorship and those with occupations on a newly released Critical Skills List i.e. occupations in which we are desperately short of workers. There hasn't been any publicity about the changes, but they mean that no one is coming here who isn't virtually guaranteed of a job in a field in which we are genuinely short of skilled workers. The entire focus has changed from processing visas in the order in which the applications were received, to one of demand where people we need the most take priority over everyone else even if their application is brand new. Seems ideal to me.
