No, call the city code enforcement people. They will go investigate the conversion of the garage into living quarters and notify anyone else that needs to be notified. If you lose this 'friend' it really doesn't sound like it would be much of a loss. |

YES, they are here illegally. That means breaking our laws. They apparently don't care enough to fill out some forms. Plus they mess up the tax and benefit programs.
You will be saving you friend because if he gets caught, he has two really big counts on him: violating fire regulation and aiding and abetting illegals. |

Are they hurting you in any way? I know alot of people that converted their garages into something other than parking. If they pose no immediate threat let them be; after all they could be out in the streets doing this just be glad they have chosen to do it behind closed doors. |

Don't waste your time. Like most federal agencies, the INS can't be bothered enforcing the law. It makes one wonder why our taxes are so high, paying for federal departments which (truly) do nothing at all except exist--sort of like the slime one sometimes comes across in the wild. |
