you should have shoved the food were the sun don't shinne, and should have hang them instead, so they could be the pinata. VIVA ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION! |

No, you should have said 'Thank you' and hung up the pinata. Then you quietly dispose of the food from Taco Bell, which is inedible.

You don't have a right to throw a bottle at someone just because they are stupid. Just don't invite them next time. |

Were you offended??? I take it you must be of Spanish decent...Some people are stupid and it might've been their way of making you comfortable...I dont think they meant to offend you but if you were, then I'd tell them thanks for the food, but it wasnt meant to be a ethnic party and leave it at that. |

I think people who get offended by stereotypes of their ethnicity only draw more offense against themselves. I'm Chinese, I really hate when Chinamen whine about some kinda silly offense. There was some club in Los Angeles that banned wearing baggy pants in the early 90's, and a bunch of dumb-assed Asians protested this rule. Apparently this group of dumb-asses thought that it was ok to walk around with potato sacks for pants. I really hate the small minority of import-racing, baggy pants wearing, hip hopping with funny accents Asians that make us nerdy ones look bad.
So here's my suggestion: Just give it back to them! Next time your co-workers throw a party, show up with missing teeth, a rebel flag, and a child born from your 1st cousin. |

Showing your true colors, throwing things? Dont you people have any respect for anything? |

Your whole story reads like it was made up, because we both know that if you attacked a group of white people with a beer bottle, you would have ended your story about going to jail, being sued, and losing your job. |

Would you have been equally upset if they only brought Corona?
And Dude, Reese is right it is lasagna & The Soprano's. That is the feast food of our people ummmmmm...... LASAGNA! And we already know all the words to all 3 Godfathers, so The Soprano's are our viewing choice. |

Dont be offended they probably didnt know, plus taco hell is delicious. |

Did you ever stop to think that maybe they didn't know what kind of party you might be having? he11, man think about it. They showed up didn't they? You might want to ease up some. |

I am hispanic and I see nothing wrong with what your co-workers did. You should have open your arms to them because they went to your party and brought food. They had good intentions. Ask them to leave is very impolite.
If they first said something offensive to you or your guests then you should have asked them to leave. |
|

If you have to ask, then is it really that important?
By the way - I am Irish, and it seems when I invite people over, they all think I am going to have beer and alcohol there. Things are tough all over, buddy. |

WHY
|
honestly, it does sound like they were trying to be funny. if you were offended then say so. that's just like them bringing african artifacts and fried chicken to a black person who was holding the party. i would be offended, and would speak up. |

Dude, if that really happened, I wouldn't have been offended! That's just their mental capacity, so you can't blame them! Did they at LEAST fill the piñata with candy?!?!?!? |

I don't see anything offensive here. I have had the same types of parties myself. Pinatas are fun, sombreros can start some funny dances, and most kids like taco bell. I'd say bring on the margarita's and get this party started. |

maybe they thought it was a Mexican party? |

If you are so insecure in your ethnicity that you are offended by what someone eats, the problem is ALL yours buddy- no one else's. |

Maybe they were also trying to be friendly. OK Taco Bell is not the choice of food I would have brought and a pinata and sombrero are both pretty questionable but isn't it possible that they were bringing something they thought appropriate and had no intention of offending you?
Antis, if they DID intend to offend you then you really don't need them around your house anyway and are better off without them. |
|

What's so offending about some food?
I'm sure they weren't trying to offend you or anything.
They probably brought in respect of your country and customs.
Good job anti, you just managed to make them hate Mexicans.
They'll probably have no respect for you and your countries custom the next time you meet. You're the one that was being disrespectful. |

It's lasagna and The Sopranos when you go to an Italian's house now - duh! Keep up with the times, dude! |

I dont believe you. You might have thrown a bud light at them but not a corona. |

LOL......well.....in our grocery stores around here they kept having all Mexican type foods on sale for the Super Bowl. Since when has the Super Bowl been catered with Mexican foods? I want my hot dog or BBQ or pizza.
I guess you can be offended by everything if you want....I figure they were just trying to be thoughtful. I see it was Corona and not a Bud you tossed their way. Just goes to show there isn't anything anyone can do right anymore. |
|

I-love-Jesus! <3

U SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN OFFENDED! They were just trying to be friendly and nice. Some people like Taco Bell!! U HAD NO RIGHT TO THROW A BEER BOTTLE AT THEM AND KICK THEM OUT! |

i love the grilled steak burritos with Hot sauce
maybe they figured that's the food that you liked. maybe they had no clue and it was done in good intentions. i dont think it was done maliciously to perpetuate a stereotype. |

i didn't see your last question, but i can understand why you would have been offended. it was great you were trying to be friendly, and it would have been great if those people coming over had called you and asked you, "what can i bring?" instead of assuming. i hope they were just unthinking and not trying to be racist.
and hey, maybe you've opened their eyes to how they were really treating you. i know it doesn't seem like it sometimes, but most people are decent and wouldn't offend someone like that intentionally.

No you shouldn't have been offended. You should have made a joke of it instead (I would have) and as somebody else said, turn up to THEIR parties dressed in bib-alls with a few blackened teeth, waving a rebel flag etc. (disagree about the baby by 1st cuz though - sister's more like it)
That would have earned you their respect. Instead, you may have alienated them, which will make it very difficult for you to continue working with them.
Why not say to them "Great joke last week, sorry I got upset" or words to that effect. They may surprise you and apologise for causing offense. If nothing else, it should reduce tensions at work.
Whatever you decide to do, good luck |

It's not really offensive. They just made an assumption about the Mexican culture. But, it's not the big deal.
Did they really bring Taco Bell? I want to hurl everytime I try that food. It's so gross. |

What's wrong with that?? |

Why would you be offended? If you brought hot dogs, hamburgers, or fried chicken to my party, I wouldn't be offended. Is it because you're insecure about your race? That's the only reason I can think of to be offended. |
|

I've read and re-read your question, and I just can't see anything even remotely offensive. |
