This statement/question is idiotic.

Illegals DO NOT get benefits in any way shape or form. Use your brain and think for a minute. In order to get any kind of benefits you MUST FIRST identify yourself, illegals do not have Federally issued IDS, if they were to present themselves to ask for Welfare benefits for instance they could not identify themselves. If they canâ€™t identify themselves they CAN NOT get benefits.

Just think about it for a minute, if you still believe that people can get benefits from the US government WITHOUT properly identifying themselves try to do it yourself, try to get food stamps without any documents that prove who you are and that you are entitled to them.

Unreal how many people repeat the same idiotic statement without thinking for a minute.

As for the hospital scenario, they are the last to seek medical assistance for fear of being found, and when they do not giving them medical assistance could potentially make a bad situation worse. Imagine he has an infectious disease and it is not treated, he would then walk around infecting everybody in his path... how smart would that be? Schooling, those children will grow up to be United Statesian citizens, do you really want to make our future citizenry less educated? (they might end up spelling like you do...)

no they shouldnt! My husband makes $5 too much a year for us to get any help. But yet they give it to the illegals that don't pay into taxes at all! I just don't get it!

I don't believe that the situation is quite as grave as the politicians make it out to be. First of all, to attend a public school in the US you need documentation - birth certificate, immunization records, social security card, proof of residency. I doubt that there are too many "illegal" children attending public schools. I would like to see some actual statistics on this.

As for the hospital visits, doctors and hospitals can't refuse emergency care - whether the person can pay for it or not. It is immoral and wrong to not help someone who is hurt or very ill. Should our tax dollars go towards a hospital's bottom line when they charge thousands of dollars for two hours in the ER? I think they make enough money to cover it.

I do think that our immigration policies need to be tightened up and I think that we need to get those people who are not supposed to be here back to where they are supposed to be. I think that we can provide easy to obtain temporary worker visas to those who want to work and then carefully monitor their progress. They would have to pay taxes and would not receive any long term benefits but would receive "normal" benefits that any other person in their income bracket would receive. And I firmly believe that any business that is caught a second time with hiring illegals should have their business license suspended for an entire year and criminally prosecuted.

No, they should not receive any benefits, they are not citizens, they are here illegally, why should America support them and lower our standard of living by raising the prices we pay.

The burden illegal aliens place upon our society is not worth the lower prices for lettuce, etc. The other costs associated with illegal aliens far outweigh what little decline in the price of goods their presence brings.

The bottom line is higher costs because of illegal aliens. No benefits, no amnesty, no school for their children, it is time for Mexico and other countries to step up to the plate and care for their own citizens. It is time for the slavery to stop. Corruption in their home countries is not reason to invade the USA illegally, it is a reason to stay and fight to end corruption and bring about a change that will foster freedom and a chance at a good life in their own countries. Deserting ones own country will not bring a needed change. Sending money back to the motherland only enriches the rulers at days end and the cycle grows stronger. Nothing good is accomplished.

It will be difficult to deny them medical care. However, we can give hospitals the authority to ask for documents and report to authorities. This will at least limit the non-emergency visits.

Most of the time that I am aware of we the taxpayers do not foot the bill.But in the instances that we do I agree that we should not be paying for it.But is there another solution?
