welcome to the truth.. in Mexico.. their imigration laws are very explicit.. and one of the tenets of the law is this.. no imigrant or visitor will be allowed to receive any type of medical treatment subsidy.. Pal, they won't give you a peso of help.. it is their law..

You are dealing with entirely different country & world. They can do anything they want. Only "public" hospitals in the US are the ones who cannot deny treatment because of an inability to pay.

Just because you're American doesn't mean you are entitled to certain things when you are in another country. FYI -- American citizenship gives you benefits in the United States, not in other countries.

If a Mexican came up here and was in need of medical attention but did not have money they would still be cared for, they should be civil and do the same.

For all ignorants people, (I don't want to offend , but I mean those who don't know).

Let me say this:

"Cruz RoJa Mexicana", gives anyone, first aids with no cost.
You can call an ambulance with no cost!

They work with the FREE help of Paramedics and Medics.
I said FREE, (no charges, no costs, no hiding charges on your telephone bills, no persecution of payment through continue calls, nothing, nothing like that!!!!!).......
They don't charge anything!!!!!!. ZERO PESOS.

After you are attended you can cooperate with any amount you want ( not the "obligatory cooperations" american style), and every year they get an annual collect to continue working..... All people are proud of cooperating with the Mexican Red Cross every year.

If patients need more medical attention or any medical surgery, they are transfered to a hospital where he/she has rights. If he/she has not social security, he/she can be attended by a low cost hospital. There are many, almost free.

America Red Cross doesn't send any free ambulance. That's what I know. And all those "free" hospital services are charged twice to those with not social security number, make them almost impossible to pay.
They always get a license # of some relative and they charge it. Good service, but rarely free.

....and all this is true!!!!...

Didn't you know we Mexicans don't discriminate. They will gladly accept you into their hospitals. Wait I forgot Mexicans do have one hang up. You better have cash. Kind of sounds familiar for the poor in the United states. What do you think. long live Mexico oh and the U.S too.

No, that's not true. We have like a general hospital in most large towns and all cities. An American I know was treated and released without cost. They hassled him a bit, because they believe all gringo's are rich, but, finely relented and let him go.

I dont see why everybody tries to make this an inmigration issue....... the question has nothing to do with it people!!!

anyhow... americans (as anyone else in mexico) have different options

- if they have social security they can go to the respective hospitals
- if they have private health care insurance, they can go wherever
- if they dont have insurance, but have the money to pay for it, they can go to top class private hospitals
- or, go to the red cross... it's free here in mexico

That is absolutely correct my friend. In Mexico you get nothing free ! unlike this country who give everything aways to any body except it's citizens.

In our country every illegal has a standing $1,000 waiting for them at any hospital emergency room, that only for illegals too. if you're a citizen and have no money or medical insurance , you're shown the door.! this has to stop! when are we going to stand up for our rights??

Ideally, nobody should be denied treatment for a life-threatening emergency, but everything else probably yes.

I'd guess that's true for cases of non-emergencies. Surely there are some institutions that accept patients with heath insurance outside of MX. Many US citizens go to MX for treatments and drugs due to the cost being so low compared to the USA. If you are in MX and need immediate care, I'm positive you will be treated regardless of your ability to pay up-front.

in america no one is turned away based on their ability to pay. there are groups of people here that wont fund services to a hospital if they dont follow certain guidelines like providing emergency care to anyone who needs it. Doesnt matter who you are or your background. Who do you think pays for that? American taxes. Why do you think health insurance premiums are so high and when you do get sick and need medicine it costs you 20 bucks to fill the rx.
I would hope that in mexico they would be as humane as we are but sadly this is not true. They say we are uncaring to others? Hmmm I think its the other way around. Just goes to show you why so many people from around the world want to be here. How dare we say you have to come here legally, and if you do you are a racist. Thats bull crap if you ask me. Come one and come all legally, but please stay home if you plan on coming illegally.

We don't deny Mexicans treatment in the U.S. so why should they be able to deny us. Although, how much could it cost down there? They wouldn't treat many Mexicans down there if it was too expensive or else Mexicans wouldn't be trying to move here to make more money. I have heard in Costa Rica, medical treatment costs nothing compared to the U.S. In other words, why would you be in Mexico without some money? Just a thought.
