If illegal immigrants are given amnesty, there will be a lot of pissed Americans.
It would be nice if they were given amnesty. It makes life easier. But we live in a society where "bad people should not be rewarded" "these people are hurting our country and they should not deserve proper treatment" “they didn’t respect us we should not respect them” “we struggled through this why should they get it easier” blah blah blah.
It's pretty sad how people are looking down at illegal immigrants. Sure, they broke the law, but it doesn't make all illegal immigrants bad people. There are some illegal immigrants who have social security, pay their taxes, and try to be good citizens (I know some). Also, applying for a visa seems impossible for most people. The people who are going to come to the US legally are people who have spouses that are US citizens or have children (who are US citizens) over 21. Employment, being a wealthy investor, the DV lottery, or “coming to the US before 1972” are other alternatives. People who do not fall in those “categories” are at a disadvantage. Getting a visa is difficult. I can see why people come here illegally.
Instead of “give amnesty to illegals,” why not change “the process of getting a visa” so it will be easier for others. For example, why is it only limited to really close relatives? Why can’t aunts, cousins, or friends sponsor? My point is, if there are more alternatives to apply for a visa [and if the process does not take 5-10 years], then more people can come here legally. |

Not directly.
However, there are many proposals that get called "amnesty" that are not really.
For example, one of the more balanced proposals allows for a statutory plea option. Someone who entered illegally, but has committed no other crimes, pleads guilty to a misdemeanor, pays a fine, pays any back taxes, and that resolves that one charge. As long as they have committed no other crimes, and as long as they have a valid job, they would be legal resident aliens... After that, they may petition for citizenship after the normal statutory period.
It's not amnesty, because it's still a criminal conviction. But it also resolves the problem for about 80% of the people here illegally, allowing law enforcement to concentrate on those who have broken other laws as well. |

All illegal aliens are criminals, they violated their first law in the USA by entering this nation illegally, or by overstaying a visa. They all have made a premeditated decision to violate our laws, to disrespect our borders, to disrespect our laws, our nation, our history, our people.
Illegal aliens continue to violate one law after another every minute of every day they remain on US soil illegally.
They are nothing more than criminals, liars and thieves.
Illegal aliens do not have the legal right to live in the USA, or to work in the USA.
The only rights illegal aliens have are the right to be arrested for the crimes they have committed and the right to be deported to their own nation.
Illegal aliens do not pay any social security.
Illegal aliens are not issued social security numbers, they are not eligible for social security because it is a violation of United States federal law for any illegal alien to work any job in this nation, anywhere or anytime.
The only way any illegal alien pays income taxes is by use of a ITIN and according to the US Internal Revenue Service, few illegal aliens are using ITINs to pay any income taxes.
The only way any illegal alien is paying into US Social Security is by using a STOLEN social security number, a FELONY, for which the penalty is a $250,000.00 (two hundred fifty thousand dollar) fine, 25 years in federal prison, and followed by deportation for any illegal alien who is committing that felony, after which that illegal alien can NEVER enter the USA legally, can NEVER immigrate to the USA and can NEVER become a legal resident or legal citizen of the United States of America.
Fewer than 4% of all illegal aliens are working in the agriculture industry in the USA, but over 45% of all illegal aliens are on some form of welfare or social services.
The last amnesty during Reagans presidency, ultimately cost the US taxpayers hundreds of billions of tax dollars to support and subsidize the amnestied illegal aliens, their offspring, and their relatives who entered the USA (legally and illegally) in the years since.
Amnesties are a huge mistake.
Illegal aliens already have no respect for our laws, amnesties only reinforce that disrespect. |

No! They break the law and basically slap those who come here LEGALLY and have to wait YEARS for citizenship. They take away services from US and cost us lots of money.
Yes, I feel sorry for them because they are people, but they broke the law.
By the way, I know several people who have come here legally. One was married and his wife had to wait over a year to come here, and almost 10 years to become a citizen. They were married in their home country and have been together for many years, so it wasn't like she was a mail order bride or anything. |

What's the difference between some one breaking into the country because they only want a better life for themselves and breaking into a house because they only want a better life for themselves? Good heavens, no. We just got through a major battle with Congress to stop that amnesty bill. But if they introduce another one, I'm ready to man my battle station again with the email, letters and telephone.
We would need to make sure we read the next one. They might sneak in another section on SPP. Maybe more than that. If Dubya starts getting antsy again about whatever bill they draw up, beware! |

Some really should because the United State must own up to its part in enticing them to come then treat them better than folk that have been here for almost five hundred years.
America cannot have it both ways. Wicked politicians and businessmen make countless billions off of them. This is why you cannot get a state construction job down south or one building houses.
