Private universities, if they want to and can afford the expense without the use of any taxpayer dollars. Public universities, no. My tax dollars fund public universities. The public universities in my state cannot allow all who want to go to university and who qualify to do so. Why should an illegal immigrant get an enrollment when others are being turned away? |

The American DREAM Act seeks to facilitate access to postsecondary educational opportunities for immigrant illegal alien students...who currently face barriers in pursuing a college education. It also provides a path to U.S. legal residency for students, and military personnel.
Not immigrant...illegal alien. The statement that they are provided a path to U.S. legal residency admits that they are illegal aliens.
U.S. citizens face barriers too. The principal barrier is paying for your education. It's much harder when you have to pay for your education and sustain the burden of higher taxes to pay for the education of illegals aliens as well. |

I think that I need free college. Maybe then I would understand why so many people think that just because you exsist on the face of the earth you deserve to recieve free benefits that others work their entire lives to recieve and have to pay for. If you cant pay for it. you dont need it! Simple as that. |

Many illegal immigrants with this dilemma about college are illegal because their parents brought them over when they were little.
They are just as American as you or me.
However, I understand that rewarding illegal immigration is a bad idea as it will just encourge it more.
The best solution is to seal the Mexican and US border. Once the border is sealed, then provide a road to citizenship, and access to the Unviersities to these immigrant kids. |

It is extremely expensive. There could only be one way they could be allowed to go to school, and the tuition costs would just about have to double or triple. The Federal Government can screw the American People by picking up the tab for the illegal aliens, but the Citizens would be looking at higher rates indeed without any more help than they are currently getting.

YES!! education is a universal human right. if they have the grades and SAT/ACT scores they should be able to go. in my state they just did a study that revealed that our state could make more money by accepting undocumented students into community colleges and public universities and charge them out of state tuition.

of course! everyone is entitled to an education these days thats what you need to get a job! the constitution doesnt say that everyone has a right to be educated but it does say everyone has the right to the pursuit of happiness and education is basically involved in that |

Yes, they should be able to get all the benefits that the American people paid for and developed over hundreds of years. Let it be a free for all. If you manage to somehow get inside the borders, and decide to stay, you should be able to get a passport and live like a regular citizen. Hopefully you will become president one day, and I'll come over there on a tourist visa and go to a university and even get a US passport just for the hell of it. |
