No. We have enough trouble with the citizens, we don't need some alien bashing us while they are living here. |

Well, criticism is one thing.
Encouraging violence and advocating the overthrow of the government is a different story. That should be punishable by deportation or incarceration, depending on whether the individual is a visitor or a citizen. |

Yeah they can criticise America if they want to, it's their right, but don't do it around me. If they don't like it here, they can go back to the paradise they call home as far as I am concerned. |

Why not. We have the right to criticise our own government...
She'll just have to become a citizen first... |

katjha2005

Well I figure they wouldn't want to be here if they thought that bad about us... if they are here then there must be something good about us... so don't let it bother you... if they hated us they wouldn't be here |

they do need a life, sure, but that is no reason to take away freedom of speech |

Non U.S. citizens should not be allowed to criticize America and it is not a matter of free speech because the Constitution and all the amendments are for citizens of the U.S.. Did you know in Mexico that it is the law that no non citizen can speak out against Mexico and anyone who does will face either punishment or expulsion. |

Why isn't she critical of her own country or even critical of the Muslim Wahabbists that have taken over in Britain? She can't under EC Law Or Is it Sharia Law now...put her out! We are not their colony anymore thank God! God Bless America! |

Are you friend of Hugo Chavez? bc that's exactly what he did and US have critiziced him for that . . . |

you meant criticize.
there's criticism and there's insult. As a person who loves this many many things about this country, I certainly see lots of space for improvement. If systems and laws don't improve and change according to different needs of the people, then just wait for decline. As far as insult goes, why should anyone with a good sense of self worth and respect waste anytime paying any attention to that? let along stomping the ground and threatening the insulting parties to leave. Last time I checked, it was the Muslim extremists who raised hell about others making fun of their "holy man" |

everyone is entitled to criticize, as long as it's apparent they're not having harmful intentions. |

Non Americans dissing the USA can't vote. Their are meaningless in the scope of life. They are like neutered animals.
Look at all the terrorists who live and work in USA. America is so politically correct they welcome the haters. |

If she is defaming the USA or trying to get people to revolt against the government them no,they need to be put out of the country. But a little healthy criticism cant harm this nation. I don't see what anything a non citizen had to say about this nation should matter. They don't hold any power and why are they here anyway, just to make a name for themselves that they couldn't in their own nation. I could care less what any one has to say about this nation. If you hate it so then get out,go somewhere you like.
I personally would not stand by and listen to some foreign malcontent, rag on about my country. Go back and fix your own.
Our Constitution was made for THIS nation and its legal citizens. Why hould it extend to NON citizens? That's ridiculous its the US Constitution ,not any other country's. Who said it extends to non citizens ? |

Why is Ms. Elsworth "anti-American" anyhow? She should be allowed to stay here, it's called the freedom of speech. |

Technically free speech allows them to say what they feel and live where they choose.
It is one thing to be critical of your government, and thankfully America allows this, as we can change the course of our politics through free speech. However it is extremely hypocritical to say "hateful" things about America or Americans and live here. An example of which is once I had a customer who's check bounced and she was very upset with us that she did not have the funds available. As I explained that her bank would have to assist her and correct any mischarges before I could reverse any thing for her she began ranting about how evil America is and how hateful and judgemental this country was (she was from another country obviously) and how racist all americans were.
This up set me greatly as there was no reason for her to state that she "hated American and Americans" especially considering she worked for a major computer company as an engineer and was paid significantly so America was obviously doing something kind for her and allowing her a great oppertunity to make money for herself, friends, family and who ever else.
In this instance, yes, it bothers me that you take advantage of the oppertunities to be found in America, its like stealing out of lady liberty's purse when she isn't looking. |

Criticizing the government is not anti-America; blind loyalty is. |

Criticism can be useful to see where things need to change. Let's face it, there have been times when the US has been wrong before. The whole point of having a government like ours is that everyone has a voice. If you only give full rights to some of the people then you start down the path to one of those other governments that embody tyranny and elitism. If it works for us then we should extend the same rights to anyone, citizen or not. |
