Should the 'online crowd' opinion be recognized and considered on major questions?

We almost desperately need a ballot initiative for the voters sos they can vote on the issues.. and still support their candidates. AT this point, all we have this forum idea to communicate, and Obama flatly told us he had NO idea what to think of the online crowd because they supported Marijuana. Some do.. some don't, (he couldn't see, or didn't want to see that) and it is clearly an issue many people care about!

Should the Federal Government dismiss everything said online as part of the voice of the rabble and trash of America? I only see the ballot initiative as the means to communicate, and certainly not the vote itself in its single dimension for the candidate alone.

We are shaping America for the future... How do we do it?
