I'm with you but you should allow email!
I think this is a combination of some stupid ancestral guilt for slavery, colonization, and
well generally thinking we were Gods anointed and chosen bringers of civilization the the world
(England and the USA)
and a pathetic attempt to appease the rest of the world and show we have changed.
Well guess what,....... we weren't there.
We didn't do it.
And they don't care, they just want our
lifestyles and wealth and in some cases our very lives.
That's I debt I will not pay. |

We have been asked many times over the centuries. It's called a General Election.
The UK has been multicultural since before Roman times. How far back do you want to go? |

I think I know where you're coming from, is Britain going to lose its culture through multiculturism? I think its dangerous to say yes or no. I think naturally through history our culture has evolved by combining different elements of different cultures, but a sudden influx of immigrants doesn't promote a intergrated multicultural society, rather a culture which is segreated through minorities. |

Did the British ever ask the people of the many nations they acquired if they wanted to be occupied? |

Massive change to UK culture? There are many things that have changed UK culture and it isn't a black or white issue.
What about the number of 'accident' claims in the UK, where people cannot take accountability for the fact that they failed to put one foot in front of the other!
What about the number of black and white people claiming benefits and bleating on about how england owes them a living when their grandfathers worked their fingers to the bone and their grandmothers cleaned toilets to put food on the table.
You have a very narrow view of the great British decline in society and while ILLEGAL immigration has had a part to play, its a small part on a huge stage.
And while we are talking about immigration as I believe your question to have these undertones, its all very well bleating on about immigrants not embracing British culture (although they did in the old days), but ask what 'we' are doing to welcome them into our culture.
And the poster below also makes an excellent scientific statement.... for humans to survive, then it all has to be mixed up a bit.... christ have you ever been to Norfolk? |

it is better to mix and match a little, otherwise there would be many more inbreds on the island... |

I live in one of the most diverse boroughs in London and i don't have a choice however if i had a choice then i would say yes to multiculturism. |

We don't need to be asked.
All true Brits are in favour of immigration, and the multi-culturalism ...
thanks for asking tho - it's all points isn't it!

It`s a bit late now! We should have been asked years ago. What we should be asked now is "Do we "still" want to multicultural" |
|

:(
 |
i would say yes to multiculturalism..... without it; you wouldnt have curry, kebab, springrools, quality and cheap textile, 24 hours open markets and doctors...etc.... i love to know different cultures and getting to know them.... |

most would reject this and thats why the government dont ask, the same as they didnt ask if we wanted war in Iraq etc etc |

bit late dont you think,so if people said no, what do you do kick everyone out who isnt white? or are you basing it on where peoples parents from? their grandparents? their religion? think before you speak |

What is UK culture? How often do people from other cultures actually stop you from doing what you want? Rarely, I'm sure.
And I guess it depends how you define British. Make everyone have a ancestry DNA test, and only those with 100% Northern European blood decide things like, wheather the British should be asked if they want multiculturalism. Because then there will be about 3 people who have the right to decide. |

Culture isn't a static thing - you can't possibly take a snapshot of a culture and say 'that's it, we're going to keep it this way' - else we'd be stuck in the dark ages.
Inventions change culture. Music and movies change culture. Politics change culture.
Importantly, international travel and international telecommunications changed culture. They changed it in such a way that people from all over the world were suddenly talking to each other, directly and without delay.
It's only natural that people from different countries start hanging out and living with each other. |

I would say yes to it too, otherwise I would be a hypocrite for eating my curry tonight.
And my European grandparents - may they rest in peace.
And my many Asian friends.
Don't tell ME what I can and can't do! |

I have to say this is one of the best questions i have ever seen on here....
my answer is yes |

Multiculturalism does not and cannot work it is divisive and simply leads to a split society it can only work in a police controlled dictatorship if you need examples study the recent history of the former Yugoslavia and Russia. |

The people of NUMEROUS countries didn't ASK the British to come over and invade them over the last few centuries. So boo hoo hoo if you have to live alongside some of them nowadays |

Don't you think it's a little late for that? I mean we're already at a point where fish and chips has been surpassed as our favourite dish by curry. That's just a jovial example, but I mean multiculturalism has worked it's ways into our culture already, there's no way that if you asked the question and everyone said no that you could change it back anyways. |

Multiculturalism is unavoidable I think, but if people is not allowed to cover their faces, and has to take hat, cup, hud off before enter public places, then everybody has to be the same, simply as that, many people call the "secular" law when they want and the "religion considerations" when they please.
Hipocrit and unaceptable... |

Of course any person with an ounce of sense would know this country does not want or need these immigrants.
The rest of the world is laughing at us British taking in so many and giving them money for nothing and houses, health care ec for them and their families. Then they have the cheek to expect and get I may add more rights than us.
Our forefathers fought to make this country a comfortable safe place but it has gone to the dogs now. |
