The USA has never cared about the rest of the world. Why would the US want to think about starting now? Oh...yeah....oil. |

NO ! because the rest of the world does not care what the US thinks about them . Unless your speaking about BLAIR(UK)
PS genourosity begins at home . It sgreat to take care of other people ....I am not american by I think Americans should also take care of themselves as well everyone else does |

Russia didn't care what the rest of the world though about them & the world loved them. The US cares & the world hates them. seems like those who care are manipulated by the rest.
The 3rd world governments need to install infrastructure in their countryies so that they can be come lands of opportunity. Companies from 1st world countries use to be willing to create infrastructure in them, but the government chose to "Nationalize it. No businesses don't invest. The population losses & their government loses the tax dollars.
Now they have to export their people. |

No! We should not care what the rest of the world thinks. We should just do the right thing and if they don't like it, to bad. |

Well firstly, the world already downplays our importance in the arena of immigration as we have the highest illegal population. Not to mention, right now on this board and the UK one as well, there are citizens voicing their concerns about illegal (and for some foolish people legal) immigrants. If we did mass deportations, the media would skewer us by voicimg the concerns of a minorty. The world at large, however, would see the parallels to their own plights and begin their own changes (whether they follow our lead or go for amnesty isn't the point. the point is we get them thinking). We should care what the world thinks to an extent. Think of the world as your family. It's important that your Granparents, parents, siblings, and cousins like your life. You want to be seen as successful, intelligent and self-sufficient. No matter what you do though, there will always be one or two relatives that think you are a money-hungry cold hearted worker bee. There will be those that think you are lazy and don't work enough. There will be some that always ask for money they never pay back, and those that never lend any out no matter how dire the situation. Then there are those that won't help you, but demand you help them with any niggling whim that comes to them. There are those that are quick to fight, and those long to talk. While you want everyone to get along and will work to make compromises to get the ideal, you should not (and will not) lose yourself in the thick of things. You must still be true to your values (even if your Grandma thinks you dress funny and your mom thinks you need more education and your cousin is jealous of your nice car). |

I do not give a rats as* about what the rest of the world thinks.
Get rid of them all and stop the legal ones from coming in.
We are going to be running out of room in the not to distant future. The current population is growing very rapidly.
That means things like food, water, and land will be used up at a fearful rate and we will not be self sustainable any longer.
Not only that, but you have to look at land fills as well.
There is going to a server crunch on all of us when this happens.
So what happens to everyone, legal and illegal alike when this comes to pass? |

Nearly Every Nation In The World HATES Our Nation
Should the U.S. care
what the rest of the world thinks about it?
If We Cared ALOT
Or Didn't Care At All
Would Make NO DIFFERENCE
They Would Still HATE The USA
But We Should NOT Show Them WEAKNESS
One Way Or Another
ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS Will Be Deported
AND
Our BORDERS Will Be Secured
Our SOVEREIGNTY Will Remain INTACT
I Would Think That MEXICO Would Care More
About HER Impression On The World Stage
When 15 Million Of Her Citizens Are REPATRIATED
Although
20 Million Is A HUGE Army.........
There Will Be Casualties
But WE THE PEOPLE Outnumber
280 - 40
And Our Flag Was Still There............... |

Quite frankly I don't care what the rest of the world thinks of US domestic policy.
I believe that doing this would send a signal to the world that we are going to play hardball from now on. |

Not so much. As far as I know, other countries don't care about how the rest of the world views them. I think only the UN cares about their image. |

The rest of the world doesn't seem to care what we think of them, so why should we care? What we do to better our country is none of their business - when they have illegal immigrants penetrating their borders and affecting their economy, then they can talk. Until then we need to find an answer to the problem of illegal immigration that will work for our country and hopefully lay out a way for people to become citizens in a legal manner (since the system we have now doesn't seem to be working). |

Absolutely.
The world's become smaller.
Everything is done globally now.
Doing it alone is for fools like.....(fill in the blank).
International cooperation should be the goal.
Maybe one day they'll get it, then again, maybe not. |

I'm really really really sure that we should really care what the rest of the world thinks of US. I'm actually really puzzled why we don't seem to care about how the rest of the world views us. Maybe some advertising people could figure out what to do. |

I don't care what the world thinks, most of Europe has the same problem, I am sure they would understand, they might even say if America can do it, so can we get the hell out. Every country has immigration quotas. Plus the corporations want to bring in 2 million high tech workers from other countries, that would put our people out of work, and that should not be allowed. they want more cheap labor the corporations don't care about the American people they just want money. |

I dont think we should care what they think but i dont think we should mass deport all our illegals. The rest of the world always critisizes us for being in another countries business so it would be hypocritical for them to do it to us even though they would have the right to do it. |

Should we? Not only yes, but hell yes. More importantly we should impeach each and every elected official who is not doing their level best to enforce the laws of our country. That goes from George Bush to your county sheriff. From the traffic court judge to the supreme court. These people have taken a oath to uphold the laws of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. They are not doing it. If they were we would be discussing immigrants as opposed to discussing illegal immigrants. California is crying that the state is broke. Yet their governor just signed a bill into law approving financial aid for illegal immigrants. #1. These people are not illegal immigrants. They are criminals who have broken and continue to break the laws of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. #2. The laws guaranteeing rights to Americans should not be construed as laws guaranteeing rights to criminals who have invaded our territory for the purpose of destroying our way of life. Why do I have to pay for criminals to walk into the hospital and demand free medical attention? Why is my money being taken to afford welfare to foreigh crimnals? Why are my grandchildren being denied a good education because there is not enough money when we are allowing the children of criminals to attend our schools free? Not only free but we pay for their books, supplies and furnish free food. Just go down to Laredo Texas and watch them walk across the bridge to school and return each evening to live in Mexico. Our taxes are paying for that. Don't think I am sorting out the mexicans. We have the same problems with Chinese, Pakistannis, and Arabs of all types. How about Cubans, Jamacians, El Salvador and on and on. TIME TO STAND UP AND CLEAN OUT OUR HOUSE. New brooms sweep clean. Lets send a whole new group of brooms into elected offices. We can not do worse than what we have now. This includes all political parties. Not just Dems or Republicans. Equality to all. |

The US already has a hate campaign against it. The world is not a giant high school. Popularity is not important. Doing the best for yourself while fair (but not weak spined) to others is important.
We're not perfect, but overall, we are great. I don't understand how much self-hatred is reflected in this "anti-US" campaign that is being disguised as "anti-Bush."
Bush is actually too soft on illegal immigration.
Yes, we are a country of immigrants. 100 or so years ago, we were actively trying to get as many immigrants as possible to fill our factories. We had the need then, not now. We also didn't have the many social programs we have now. Illegal immigration is causing problems in education, health care, crime, etc etc.
Immigration is fine if it can be controlled. But, we simply can't be a haven to everyone. Why is there so little coverage on the increasing strict immigration laws that so many other countries have passed?
I think a lot of the US's bad press is simply jealousy. |

No, to me if we give them amnesty we will be giving in to them, thus being beaten by them..
I don't care about people who hate me in the USA, so why should I care how people view me in an entirely different country? |

Yes, but policy should not be based on what others think, but on whats right, democratic and fair,
Its like here in the uk, we take a similiar stand to america, and we get lots of flak as a result.
I think we are to soft on immigration, surely we should make sure there is enough work for the people thats all ready here, before allowing anymore in to our countries, Here in scotland the influx of poles, pakistanis and others have given the green light to allow employers to pay minimum wages as these immigrants would work for peanuts and be happy,
Thats probabally the real reason why we allow them in,, purely economics, I could bet my life on it, if they were increasing the wage bill they would be kicked out tomorrow .
dont mind helping people under threat but common sense must prevail..
Me i would send them to france just for the fun of it as i hate their weak stance on modern problems around the world..
thanks |
