Should we bow to the inevitable and make SPANISH our official language in the United States of America?

I don't see why you would ask such a question. The United States does not have any official language. Take a look at New York City--the city has over 38% foreign born and the multiplicity of languages spoken does not stop English from being the dominant language. You have nothing to worry about.

NO. we dont have an official language. I speak Spanish, but I dont want to HAVE to speak it all the time, nor English for that matter. You should research things more before posting questions.

NO! English needs to stay the official . If we go to other countries we are expected to learn the language. Why should we give up our language? It is not right some people can not get a job because they do not speak Spanish, but we have to listen to people we do not understand and have to deal with it.

I think that if you enter into a country you should know the language. They should adapt to our customs as well.

I will tell you, I have a neighbor from Greece, she came to the United states about 12 years ago, she had to learn English.

My fiancee who lives in Peru is coming here to live LEGALLY WOO HOOO!!!! SOMEONE WANTS TO BE LEGAL!!! He had to learn English.

Being that English is the primary language of the USA that is the language that should be learned and Americans should be given the option of whether or not we want to speak the Spanish language or not.

We don't actually have any official language in the USA, though most would assume it was English. But I don't hear Spanish hardly at all where I live. Maybe if you are in Texas or California you hear it a lot. But I don't.

Let's take a closer look at Mexico. WHO are the people that live there? Do they even know who they are anymore? Spanish was NOT the original language of Mexico. It has the history of the ancient Aztecs and the Mayans.But do we hear Mexicans today yelling about that travesty, which was in reality a brutal act of racism? Why not? Simply because the Spaniards forced their culture down the throats of the ancient, innocent people of Mexico so effectively. The Spanish way of life became the "de-facto standard" way of life in Mexico to this day. Talk about brainwashing! History and also today's current events appear to prove that the "you owe us"

has much as you learn has better you do.. Americans learn English and now we speak 2 languages besides other activities or professions. Why if you just try to see us like regular people

All national internet polls indicate 95% of Americans say no to Amnesty. Don't buy into the garbage, as we have seen with so many other issues derived by our governments neglegence in the last 15 to 20 years. Not all is as they make it appear.

Why is it that every damn thing anyone from that side of the issue say's is pure lies and propaganda? For instance the numbers aren't 11 million illegals. It is 20 mill+ at all census sites. A mathmatician did the estimate today on our website and with their children he estimates 50 million ILLEGALS here. More than 1,500 pooring in daily from southern boarders. Once legalized they have the right to bring family members here. Rough estimate of 2 family per person brought here within a 1 year period makes the population skyrocket to 150 million derived directly from all the ILLEGALS present today.

That would be 150 million people who begin citizenship as criminals. 150 million who have no regard, loyalty or commitment to this country or to the citizens who already reside here. In one year.

I will let you answer that question for yourself. I know what my answer to it is. I would rather put a mad rush on application world wide and bring 150 million of those citizens who have been waiting, into our country legaly.

Than to cave into a criminal mob who burns our flag, raises their own and demands the rights and priveldges of this country, that they have absolutely no respect for.

The reason that we have immigration limits is based on our economy and job soruces to not only provide for them but to obsorb them in a way that does NOT negatively effect the Citizens of this country. With the mass Migration that has and still is taking place on our southern boarders as well as the Legal immigrants given permission to come here yearly, we have no hopes to abosorb these numbers without negative effects. To demand American citizens to sacrafice more of themselves, their taxes, jobs, medical institutions and rights. At a time when our economy is already dicey at best is not only irresponsible but down right negligent.
When this boat sinks people, the Illegals go down and so do we.

This is not racist, evil, or inhuman. This is just pure raw fact. Our economy will not survive the numbers we are talking about. And is in great distress at this time because of it.

So if you want to ignore the Illegalness of the issues, the anti American sentiments being expressed at marches, and in our own neighborhoods from people who do not have respect or commitement to this country you can. But you will not be able to ignore the waters of poverty, joblessness, soring crime rates, soring population growths, desinagrating educational systems, desinagrating health care, desinagrating social security programs as they fill your lungs and drown you.

And if you think the Illegal problem stops there your kidding yourself. Millions more will follow in their foot steps. Choosing to enter ILLEGAL and remain ILLEGAL knowing they can continue to do so.

ILLEGAL immigrants do not pay taxes unless they have false documents and have indulged in Idenity theift. Those who indulge in ID theift work at such low wages that they get full income tax returns back. Often more with earned income credits. Dispel the lies and propaganda people.

Absolutely NOT. My personal opinion is that our "beloved aliens" should not come to OUR country and expect us to change OUR language patterns and OUR way of life just to suit THEIR needs. I know I would never move to another country and refuse to learn the native language. Why should they be any different? Just because they're moving from a very impoverished country to one of the most developed countries in the world doesn't mean that they should still be expected to live their lives like they're still in their impoverished country.

Again... I'm very opinionated about this topic but it is just my opinion. What do you guys think?
