No because there is an estimated 10-15 million illegals who would be eligible for social security. Right now, the social security system can't handle another 10-15 million people who have never contributed.

But this poll doesn't matter anyway, our "vote" doesn't mean anything.
Our elected officials are the ones that should be "polled" since they are the ones with the power to decide. Those opposing...and they are a majority int he U.S. should put pressure on their elected officials to do what's right...and not grant amnesty to illegal aliens.
No illegal alien that broke the law should be granted citizenship AHEAD of those immigrating here legally, many of whom are still in the process.

NO!!! Deportation!!! They go back Anchor babies need to go back too. Anchor babies can return to the us when they turn 18, seeing as they are US citizen. But Being a US citizen doesn't mean a person has to be raised in the United States. The government should have DNA stored for each anchor baby. DNA samples are still cheaper then paying 18 years of welfare and health care benefits.

Thanks to the government, I've ALREADY lost my social security benefits, and it had NOTHING to do with immigration. I guarantee I've been paying into it ALLOT longer than you have.

Having lived in San Diego, working full time WITHOUT medical benefits, I can tell you it was allot easier for them to see a doctor than it was for me.

Reality check, They already have amnesty in a number of cities throughout the country.

There is no woe is me for the agricultural industry who has always broken the law and hired illegals to pick the crops. I'll pay an extra $1 a pint for strawberries. AND I'll pay tax on it.

I'm a hardliner who wants to see the rules we already have enforced.

No, I don't agree with amnesty, but I also don't agree with the hate and anger that's being thrown about on either side of this issue. It's not accomplishing anything.

no i think it is not fair to all that came to the USA legal and been good law abiding people..... i think it the law should make it easier for all people in every country to come to America mainly if they are married to a American or going to marry a American Mexicans are given more rights then any other country... if this law is passed i think it should be passed for all people who went back to their countries on their own and not be punished for over staying their visa's... i am a American married to some one from Jordan.. and he can not return to the USA for over staying his visa and we have been married 6 years and its not a marriage just to become legal in the USA.. i am living in Jordan because my country is punishing us both for his over staying his visa he went back on his own no Law involved. so why let all these people stay and make them legal when others who are very good people can not who left honestly.. is this fair???

I would prefer to loosen immigration laws to permit more immigrants into the country legally (I'm personally willing to allow any would-be immigrant who is willing to work and isn't a criminal to immigrate here).

To grant amnesty to illegals would be a mistake. It would also be a mistake to allow immigrants into the country and then give them welfare (which should be either eliminated or limited to citizens).

we spend ton of green dollars in iraq and before
that stupid war end could cost to us two trillion bucks
now people want to deport all illegal immigrants
but without consider the cost factor
estimates say $206 billion over 5 years
$41.2 billion annually and could be as high as $230 billion

no thanks I agree give to them the anmesty
and let this people start to pay the taxes in this country

How are the demographics going to change if they ALREADY are here? Is that your biggest fear, different demographics?
We can only speculate on how many will bring other family members and if that is even ALLOWED in the plan.
I already know I will probably not get SS benefits when I retire so I have begun a 401k a while back.

though undocumented residents deserve much better than only amnesty.

We have to recognize that they are our fellow human beings first, and that this matters much more than what immigration laws say.

Yes and I want the government to give them tax breaks, free health care for life, education, day care, all on the tax payer's dollar.
