Who says that Americans hate Mexicans? I think there are plenty of Americans that are willing to do these jobs but they need more money. They have to live by the laws unlike illegals. They can't stuff 14 people into an apartment. They don't drive with the car filled to the max with people. They pay taxes.

Most people don't hate Mexicans, they dislike people who break the law. If they just hate illegal immigrants cause they're Mexican, they're bigots.

But, the truth is illegal immigration is hated around the world. Were not just allowed to enter Mexico with out the Mexican Government's Permission, and the Mexicans cant enter the US without our permission. Plus a Mexico itself has an illegal immigration problem with their southern boarder.

I know there are ignorant fools who hate Mexicans, but they are few and far between. Actually I am disappointed at the racism in the question. According to your statements, Americans should fight harder to stop illegal immigration because these poor people are being taken advantage of and are being paid a sub-standard (less than fair) wage. Tell me, why do you hate Mexicans so much that you think they should be treated sub-standard and unfairly?

To answer your question:

I do grow and pick my own produce, it is much cheaper and tastes better. I am more than happy to pay more so that the farmers in AZ, NE, IA, CA, etc can actually start making a living and quit selling the family farms to developers.

First off, I will be eagerly voting for Ron Paul.

I think that we can afford to pay veggie pickers fair wages, without the need to pay hiher prices. This impact would be on farmers profits.

A hour of labor in a field at $8 per hour can generate hundreds of dollars of produce. So cost increase would be based on greed of business owners demand for profits. Saying that, business owners could pay them $15 an hour and STILL make money.

America would continue doing what it always has: buying from outside the country. That, and rather than have illegals pick the produce, we'd still pay legal immigrants under the table to pick them like we have since slavery became obsolete.

Most are willing to pay more on the front end for wages and veggies, being it will be off set with the cost of illegal immigration, from educating the ilegal and llegal of the illegals, health care, and anchor babies.

Wow, are you scattered in you opinions or what? You know the miners of this country crawl down dark and dangerous holes in the earth everyday to make a living, I don't see them complaining how horrible their fellow citizens are for using the products that they mine. Could it be that they realize they chose the line of work they currently hold? Could it be they understand the consequences of their own actions? The same goes for anyone in a dangerous line of work: firemen, policemen, military, construction workers, etc.
As for fruits and veggies the prices have and are going up and I will continue to buy them.

Give me a break, I don't hate Mexicans! This is not about how we feel about Mexicans or any other displaced ex patriot of another country.

This is about the National security of our United States, this is about those who cut in line. This is about an invasion of another country over our sovereign borders. This in the long run is about helping the Mexicans take back their own country.

If we keep allowing the Mexican government to foist off their most displaced and disconnected citizens to us, it will be us who face their wrath when they finally rebel.

By allowing those of undocumented status to cross the borders and have no consequences for doing so, we have created two new classes in our social structure.

The first is a class of virtual slavery, where American companies can hire and fire these people indiscriminately with virtual immunity from labor laws.

The other class is a new Mafia like group that is advocating violence, and shaking down their own communities while committing crimes against all of us. And we are not allowed to question their status!

So yes I would be willing to pay more for produce, if that is what it takes.

But this would only be short term, because the agricultural industry has stifled innovation and technological growth, due to the fact that it was cheaper to pay Illegals to due the work.

If their labor force is dried up, just wait to see how technology will rush in to fill the need. Just like every other industry in America.

Then the Mexicans can stand up and take back their country! A rich country at that, with some of the largest untapped oil reserves in the world, all owned and operated by the wealthy few, who run the government, who are encouraging the migration to our country so they don't have to deal with the problem.

It is not hate to want them to obey the laws of this country. I work at a job illegals were doing. So dont try that old myth that they only do jobs we wont do. Oh and notice were doing because the factory was raided and they were deported.
