I dont think that illegal immigrants are necessarily criminal. I think that that is unfairly stereotyping and since I happen to be in a race (black) that is often unfairly stereotyped and dont like it, I cant turn around and do it to another race. So to answer your question, I think that if a person commits criminal activity, they should be in jail depending on the sentence. |

Back to mexico,I think mexico is worse than jail and taxpayers won't have to pay for their prison bills |

we can send them back to Mexico and let them deal with them. |

Or you could educate most people. |

Back to their respective countries is where I'd put them. They are breaking the laws here, otherwise they wouldn't be called "illegal", duh. They should get in line and get into the country "legally", like others have had to do. |

Why should we put them in our prison system? We already have enough Mexican criminals in our jails as it is, which once again we the taxpayers are footing the bill for. They need to be deported. |

whatever, theyd just climb the fences. |

Yo!

Deportation not incarceration. |

you don't but them in jail, you send them back to Mexico |

neither. send them back home, and use some negotiating leverage to coerce "said nation" to punish defectors themselves, or at least to subsidize it or do their fair share in border enforcement. But jail costs tax dollars, and the point is in protecting national interests, not in producing more public expenses. |

Send them to prison here and waist our tax money? Yeah right! I say execute them immediately or ship them back to where they're from! |

Here in America we have a concept that the punishment should fit the crime. Deportation fits the crime of illegal immigration. |

To me they are not Immigrants they are Refuges. What would we do with any Country of Refugee? I think we should draft them into the army make them fight for their own Country Rights. |

They do not deserve to be imprisoned. All they are doing is trying to make some money for their families--and there is nothing wrong with that. They are not hurting anyone. |

send them back and be dealt with in their own country save us a fortune |

charge them with smuggling(themselves) and put them in whatever jail that law requires.
Then have the prisoners build a wall. |

I am not terribly sympathetic to illegal immigrants due to the fact that many people come to the U.S. legally and the problems with illegal immigration are making it harder for those who go through the process the right way. But, as to the jail thing. I don't see how any reasonable person actually believes we could or should jail people for that. If they are here illegaly to commit other crimes, drug dealing, rape, etc. prosecute them for that, and don't just deport them because that doesn't stop them. If their only crime is being desperate and not respecting our immigration laws, maybe the punishment should be... (caning?)... I don't know, obviously, but you are right, jail is silly (and I believe just said in frustration). However, welcoming them into this country just because they are already here is not the answer. We have to have some way of making sure they aren't fleeing another country because they are criminals or terrorists. Plus, think of all the people doing it legally who we'd be jilting. It's a very hard question, but I say jail them if they commit a different, jailable offense, or if they are repeat offenders. Maybe we could offer some assistance to them on how to work here legally without being an illegal immigrant, some just don't know how. Have a nice day. |

They are coming up with new detention facilities that keep families together, prior to deportation. I'd go with those. We want to stop illegal immigration, not unnecessarily frighten children. |

I second the first answer, the answer is for folks to go home. That'll solve most of the controversy, and help Mexico be on the path to reform... |

The prison of the country that they came from. |

They must go back-they came here illegally to begin with. If persistent and continual-throw them in minimum-if they break the law again Med. and so on. Its not like they are intentionally out to hurt-but laws need to be obeyed. Without law lawlessness prevails and many Innocent get hurt (HISTORY). if they commit other crimes-Drugs, thief, ect-Maximum-it is intentionally. |

I hate that people feel that way. They only want a chance to have all the things that we take for granted. Its not just Mexico its Cuban and a lot of other places. They only want a chance they dont tell you to take your blue blooded asses home so why should we if you realize it or not it is their work that really keeps the country up they know the value of a dollar how many homeless imagrents do you see? |
