I'm a full time mum. I work and pay taxes, i own my own home. i do not claim benefits. i do however have a problem with waiting for a doctors or hospital appointment, or the fact my son cant get into his LOCAL school because its full!!!! or that down the road planning permission has been granted for a mosque, but across the road a family who wanted to install solar panels got refused! just my point of view on things!

Well, excuse me but every country has a section of society that want everything for nothing but the majority of Britons are hard workers - including myself, I'm not at work at 10 am midweek because I should be asleep after my nightshift with a possible nightshift tonight and three more before the end of the week with two day shifts already behind me this week.

However, I welcome immigrants who are going to work hard and obey the laws in our country; that's all we ask but saying that, some immigrants are here purely for economic reasons, they want to make a quick buck as easily as possible.

As for the British, why should any of us apologise for living in our own country, why should we have to integrate, surely the only integrating to be done are by the newcomers? And WHY can't we get angry when we are constantly told that we are useless, feckless, no good and should bend over backwards to appease those new to our shores who quite obviously despise us?

Working immigrants probably only make up a small percentage of workers in this country compared with the other 99% of immigrants who sponge of NASS benefits to get their free housing and spending money. What about us bona fide UK citizens who work really hard only to find our taxes going to support the lazy lifestyles of immigrants who think this country is an easy ride for a good life.

Its not as simple as saying people hate imigrants.
I think you will find people hate wasters and spongers whether they be nationals or imigrants.
there is no problem with imigrants who work and contribute to the country. I moved to Ireland and therefore I am an Imigrant here, but I dont expect something for nothing.
The Brits have enought problems with our own state scroungers so it go against the grain when you get imigrant scroungers as well.

So ever single British person is lazy. is that right. I think you may be thinking of a small percentage who can't be arsed to get a job. Like a small percentage. Once you have finished on your soap may I borrow it? Some immigrants are lazy and are here for the free benefits and never intead to get a job. Swings and round abouts. Most of the overseas doctors,dentists opticians etc. from abroad were taught in this country at the lazy unproductive uncreative useless expense, because their own countries were too backward to afford training some of these countries still employ witch doctors and are begging us every day on T.V to give money to help third world countries get sight operations.

As for the greying population, they unwittingly invited the ungrateful,uneducated troublemakers with open arms, thankfully we will soon be rid of them after the next election.

The U.K corporates who are making money by employing these people who will do ANYTHING to make a Â£1.00 days are numbered, but even these people know if you pay peanuts you employ monkeys.

Bit of a narrow view of the world,
There is good and bad in every nationality so stereotypical, blind and bigoted opinions just make the person that express them look a little naive.
Businesses will use the hard working, decent, creative and useful workers of any country, but as the business must make a profit the cheapest workforce will be engaged.
Cheap = cost effective = bigger profit,

Question if every immigrant is so hardworking why do the need to go to another country when with hardwork they could make it in their own country, The problem is more complex and deep seated then you seem to understand.
What we might say is the immigrant workforce of any country undervalues their service or is undervalued by the people the work for.

How dare you generalise, I used to work in a huge corporation with almost a 50% immigration workforce, believe me there were equal amounts of LAZINESS and UNPRODUCTIVENESS. In fact many of the immigrants got away with murder because they would accuse you of racism for just telling them to pull their socks up, as you would tell ANY other member of the workers.

If it is true that they work harder, Maybe it's because they are used to working in a sweat shop environment in their own countries and scared of being punished?

hmmm we're not going to apologise, even those of us who left the UK for a better lifestyle, lower taxes, shorter hours and longer vacations elsewhere in the EU - like ME !!!

In the global financial Corporation I work for here in Luxembourg, we are currently contracting several large multinational Indian and Chinese companies to build software for us as part of our regional offshore strategy within Europe - and I can tell you that these companies have the same diversity of work ethic as any Western company. Some people are stressed and some are laid back, some work hard, some are lazy and useless. Also, the last major regional development project we ran was almost a failure because of the inability of the offshore company to do what we wanted, plus there were big communication issues too.

I think you generalise too much - most people don't mind migrants coming to the UK to work hard and better their lives, if they integrate a little, learn the language, accept that their Islam is just one of several in a multicultural society... the big issue are illegal immigrants who somehow manage to get some benefits, thus straining the entire system...

Regardijng the comment about the mosques being built, every one is entitled to a place of worship. you should be proud to live in such a diverse country, and be more accepting of other peoples cultures

without the Indian doctors, the NHS would crumble and fall on its knees. without the Indian pharmacist, there would be no one to dispense the medicine. without the Indian dentists, there would be no one to look-after the nations bad alcohol and tobacco ridden teeth. without the Indian opticians, the nation would have gone blind by now.
with out the black train, bus, and underground drivers, the country would be at a standstill.
the republic of Britain was built by immigrants, mainly the Irish, then came the blacks, then the Indians. without any of these people the country would become a so called "third world country", not that i agree with this term.
