Well, all you have to do is look on what is happening. The Mexicans are taking back the land that used to belong to them. Well done, and without a war.
And for those who think that by winning a war gives you the right to get your enemies land, what if Russia and China get together and kick USA butt and take over the land, I guess that would be legal.

If you want to argue that way, how about the fact that the Mexicans stole all the land from the Native Americans in the first place? Just because the Mexicans stole the land first does not give them any greater rights than the Americans who stole the land second.

what Mexicans got evicted when we so called took these lands? None only the government we took nothing from the people just the government.

You suggest the territory was seized illegally. Actually, the United States paid $15,000,000 for the territory, and it was considered far to much to pay. Mexico leaped at the opportunity to get rid of the place and... did. So you are off base. And even as you speak as you do.. with great disrespect for my country, it is clear you are unaware that Mexico expropriated even more land from others. Mexico has committed many international crimes over the years and you need a lot more school on the matter.

You need also to look up the territory that was sold to the United States. You will discover your list is a dream.. not reality.

Finally, Mexico went to California in 1836, demanded back taxes for 16 years or they intended to take it. The California Government had not seen the Mexican Representatives for a very, very long time, but even so, the 'Californio's' willingly agreed. The Mexican Ambassador wanted the money in Silver.. non was used in California and all they used for money were cured hides off of cattle. The Mexican Ambassador marched out to his ship, got on, and left, never to come back. Mexico at that point decided they needed to association themselves with one of the governments that they dealt with... and that was the United States.

YOU.. you insulting dolt, need miles, and miles, and miles of history before they let you pretend you know what you are talking about. In 1836, there was almost NO communication between the Mexican Government and all the areas to the north with the exception of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Even if what you say it true, which is not, and we gave back the land in it's original setting in the 1800, being Mexico now in 2007 has great resources and much capital, but is a country of great poverty because those in power have little or no regard for anyone other themselves, what makes you think those who sneak across our borders would not be sneaking across the new borders

The Mexican (more like Spanish) government wasn't exactly a victim in that war, Paco. It takes two to tango and they joined the dance, even started a few. When they lost, they spent over 4 months reviewing and insisting on revisions to the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, finally asking for 15 million bucks. We caved in and gave it to them.

People will always look for better places to live, raise their families and provide for them. And whether it means going up to California and invading its territories or crossing the border and working 80+ hours a week for $3.50/h - it's up to you to decide who has more right, and where exactly that line lies..
The point is - lazy and undecisive people don't just leave their native place and go "look for a dream" - it takes some guts and character..

i am an american citizen and hlaf mexican, we are mestizos and we are half native indians, when we were colonized by spaniards they become Mexico and USA attacked and took what they wanted, not only land , gold also. it is unfair in history and it is unfair now to call all immigrants criminals, criminal a serial killer , someone who rape, who molest kids and those criminals have different skins do not blame only my kind or my skin for a lack of status
