In Feb, im illegal and my baby's father claims our daughter for taxes. Well, this year without telling him I let my sister claim her and we split the money. My sister who is legal. Will she get in trouble, See I live with my american stepfather and he told me do not do it because He was the only one who could claim her but wasn't because it was not his child. See she filed Head of household and my step-father I do not know how he filed. For the last 2 years, my daughters father has been claiming our daughter. He found out yesterday that someone has used is daughters number and was pretty mad. I lied to him and I said it was not me I could not file. He said they paid him the part for him but the eic part was being held for investigation. Could my sister be in trouble. I just wanted the extra money, I don"t work and cannot file, have no tax id. What could happen. My sister does not even live here, but uses this address to file. He told me the IRS would not tell him who filed, Could this hurt my sister in 1 yrs when she takes the test. All I was doing was trying to get extra money. Could this hurt her immigration status. Im thinking he will go to immigration now, what could happen

You are telling us--that you and your boyfriend have a child--you do not tell us if this child was born here in the States. You do not tell us if you and your baby live with your step-dad?
If you live with your step-dad and he supports your child --then depending on which Sate you live in (you do not tell us) your Step Dad has every right to claim your child as a dependent--if what you say is true.
Then your sister does not even live in the States and is filing taxes here which she willingly and unlawfully lied on. Hello--what's up with you!!!
Forget it--You are living here illegally--wanting to falsify your tax returns -in order to get money from the Government which you are not entitled too!! Now you are on here telling every-one!! Are you nuts???
