No it is not. Society evolves with time. (Read about various theories of chaos for more on this.) An example is that British society was different in 1400 to how it was in 1800. Again, society was different in 1900 compared to 1800, and again, very different in 1950 compared to 1900.

In the past, people 'would know their place' and not try and better themselves. But life changes, and society does as well. With somethings there are improvements, such as the greater access to university education that was not present 100 years ago, other things are worse, an example being anti-social behaviour on a scale not seen in the past.

So yes, you can argue that the British way of life is dying, but it is not. it is evolving. It would evolve without immigration, just as it would with it.

The reason the goverment allow so many immigrants is because there GREAT for our economy.They are hard workers they worked in there own country's for a dollar per day and if there getting 5 pound an hour which is ten dollars per hour they will work there socks off and the economy will still BOOM.Thats why i think the government allows so many immigrants(the legal ones ofcoarse).The uk has been a multi cultural society for a long time.The pakistanis ,indians and chinese were living here before i was even born.Now we have africans,polish,turkish,iranian,iraqi,ja... the list goes on.London has every nationality you can think of working and living there its just spreading around the country into all the smaller citys and towns.It doesnt bother me there is so many foreigners and yes i have noticed the huge increase in the last few years but as long as they are not terrorists and just want to live a normal life here and dont cause trouble then thats ok with me.The only thing that does bother me is when they come here and try to change our laws to suit there religion its a total lack of respect for our own customs.

the statement would have been stated by the British in every decade during the last 1500 years. The Immigration was high thoughout this period. The media hype over immigration is to sell papers and misinforms people the true picture.
The British way of life has always been affected by immigration and we should be proud of this fact.

so when did britain never chance over time. 1600 years ago there was no christians in Britain. so you want to be a Druid now do you well welcome to the Brotherhood. well you said britain has not changed so how come there is no druid temples been built, wonder why do you. because britain changed. why are people living in tower blocks and not mud covered cottages. guess why. Britain changed. why everyone not dancing around the May pole on May day. guess what because Britain changed. then why have most people got christmas trees in their houses. because Britain changes. there was no such thing as the christmas tree till the middle of the 19 century in Britain that was a custom brought in from an immigrant. face the reality no society has stayed the same. if it didn't then we would not have had the Reniassance nor anything else. so why are you so afraid of change. embrace the change and think positive. no negative thoughts is the way to go not all this whinging when you have no idea of what your talking about. come on do a course in history. you wll find that immigrants were brought into Britain all through history including nobel men and women escaping my great great great grand uncle and his Committe on public safety.

absolutely 100% disagree with you. i have a lovely life in my beloved Britain..& i would never want to live anywhere else...& i suggest anyone that doesnt like it here..should just leave & stop moaning about it!!

Before I answer I would like to say I am definately not rascist.
I would agree that our British identity is being subdued by government institutions and the like for fear of upsetting people who are not British.This is not fair on the indiginous population.
The Irish are very proud of their history and culture (rightly so too) and are lauded for their strong national identity.We as British (especially English) are derided for waving the flag of St George.
I wouldn't say that we should send immigrants back to their native countries as they have every right to be here,but sooner or later this country will sink under the weight of the overburdening population and the drain on our resources.
It is a shame that many British people feel that they themselves are treated as second class citizens in their own country due to the governments over eager efforts not to upset anyone who comes here from abroad.It is the stifling of peoples views and 'free' opinion that causes further resentment.
