Immigration is like a game show.

You take it in turns to get under or into a lorry without being seen.
You cling on for dear life, you hide in the darkest corner.
You travel miles without food or water.
If you succeed and make it into the UK.
Your reward for doing this feat.
FREE housing,FREE healthcare and FREE benefits.

Is it a risk worth taking?

Of course you don't need a job to get all these free things.....why do you think so many people are coming here.....because of the free handouts.

As for the other answer, not all stay in detention centres, if they did they would be too many to cope,lots get through and straight onto the benefit system. The uk is a soft touch and people know it. Some immigrants are living in million pound houses. so yes the benefits out weigh the negatives.

You mean to say, if u r a illegal immigrant, u can go to the government and claim a council house, get jobless allowances, child benefit, free NHS?????? No.
but u got a point here.
They are put in dentention center and then deported (well, suppossed to be ). However, many are not yet been deported.
Those illegal immigrants r not living in million pounds homes. A few asylum seekers were put in 4 bedroom period houses, but those r not illegal immigrants. whether asylum seekers should be provided with 4 bedroom period house is another issue. so i guess u r mixing asylum seekers issue with illegal immigrants issue.
But governemt has its failings: The govt is not doing a good job in sending the illegal immis on time and the screening of asylum seeker is not very strict.

For those that go to the trouble and succeed it clearly is but it's no cake walk if they get in because they still have to jump through hoops to get permission to stay and if they haven't got, or can't get permission, they're at the mercy of every gang-master that's willing to employ them for a pittance. They only get the freebies if they can show that they are genuine asylum seekers.
Put yourself in their shoes for a change and ask what you would do for a better life.
I've seen people so poor that if they had a redundant packing case to live in they were regarded as princes in a society where most people just had plastic sheets.
I don't know what the answers are.
To a great extent, it's the fault of Tony Blair & Co for liberalising legal immigration as deliberate policy. And, going way back, it's the fault of Ted Heath for conning us into the so-called Common Market when he knew all along that the real end-point was a United States of Europe, which we wouldn't have voted for, and can't vote for now because this government refuses to keep its electoral pledge to give us a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty. Were we not in the EU we could act solely in our own interests and could restrict entry to whomever we choose. We should have had a rational debate on immigration and related issues a long time ago. It's probably too late now.
We're too supine. We're spoon-fed government propaganda via a largely uncritical media and I'm afraid that until the great British public rises up against this government and starts actively protesting, by taking to the streets the way the French do, ain't nothing going to change.

your sweet uk will eventually be hurting financially. your not talking about legal immigration, you just described illegals coming in. if your govt had any brains they will ship them back to where they came from.

you mean you never have to get a job to get all those free things?? then why do people in the UK have jobs if everything is free??
