Why does everyone keeps bringing the ( Oh they do the jobs no one else wants that's why we need them)in 1986 they had the same argument,so Reagan gave illegals amnesty,as soon as they were legal,they left those jobs and took over jobs that US citizens needed,not only that,the ones that stood in those low wage jobs went into welfare because they claimed they could'nt support their families(one wonders how they managed to support their families before they were made legal)don't expect this group of illegals to stay in the same low paying job once he or she is given amnesty,they will go against US citizens for any good paying job,so now expect another bunch of moochers cross our borders and claim they are here to do the jobs no one wants,DOES ANYONE SEE A PATTERN HERE

I don't want to even think about how many it would take. Enough is enough, ANYthing illegal, should be treated as such. If you want to be a leach on the US, at least do it legally. To do otherwise, makes a person look horrible, and lacking. It doesn't help the whole race of hispanics, when you see illegal hispanics waving their flags. They have no idea how retarded it looks, nor how shameful. I liked Bush till now, he won't do a thing about this. No wonder his ratings are going down even among republicans. Hispanics that are here legally, need to encourage illegals to become legal, or leave. Employers, if you pay a illegal any wage at all, you are doing a severe disservice to your country. JD your idea of not hiring illegal immigrants any more is great... if your goal is to make criminal statistics in the US go up to the sky. Imagine 10 million desperate people that crossed the dessert in the middle of the night just to get a better job in the US. Now, imagine 10 million more unemployed, without any chance to get it and without money or welfare.

And why is dangerous to have people in a country that donâ€™t have allegiance to its flag? People in Europe goes from one country to the other working wherever they want without having to deal with any flag that is not their own. 10 years ago most of the workers in construction in Berlin (Germany) were Irish.

Millions of Greeks, Spaniards, Portuguese and Irishmen that were from the poorest countries in the EU (were, they are not any more) moved to richer countries to work without having to become German or French or Dutch citizens. And they sent money home and helped developing their countries and know Spain and Ireland are not of the poorest countries in Europe.

There are an overwhelming majority of legal citizens of the country that do not condone people coming here illegally, I hope that our senators and congressmen listen, this could be one huge election issue. Even bigger then the price of gas or the evil war.

I am white/mexican and my mom who just happens to be mexican (yes, she is legal! born and raised in texas!) take these kinds of jobs, where I have since seen no white person in that position. I used to help her too and even I wouldn't want a job like that because you basically get paid pennies for working your butt off so basically for nothing! Would you really want to scrub toilets for a living and get paid minimum wage or less??? If someone like you wanted a position like that, there would be NO NEED for illegals, or mexicans for that matter, to take jobs like these. And there would already be americans in those kinds of positions, but why don't we take them? Well one is because we're so lazy and have become accustomed to being that way, if you don't believe me, just take a long hard look around yourself. And two if these americans are so desperately wanting/needing these jobs, then why haven't they been filled in such a manner? Because no person in their right mind unless they had no choice would want these kinds of jobs! Why don't you do us all a favor and get over yourself! It's about half an half JD.This country is divided right down the middle.I hope they will let them stay.And I am worried how it will leave this nation if they were all expelled.There will be major changes.Probably not everywhere ,but in the places where they are a big part of the population there will be effects felt.
Why (besides "they are illegal")do you want to see them expelled?There is no rock hard evience that they are harming or helping.There are only theories and propoganda.

to post below cwilson jd used to be in the construction field and and in my state it is hard to get a job at min wage because of all the illegals. companies are using the mexican people ,not all americans have degrees and we used to do those jobs and we will do them again. i know a lot of out of work roofers who have to go sit in day labor buildings along with the illegals and they choose the illegals so they can pay them less ,and they dont have to get insurance on them they dont even give them drug tests because they are illegal no paper work no trace so you know nothing !!!! and you dont know everything jd is doing hes organizing a protest and i am trying to find one in my state and he as well as me write a lot of letters so you are assuming somthing you nothing about!

Jobs americans won't do? scrubbing toilets, I've seen more white janitors than "illegal mexican" ones. What about the elderly that still want to work, or the mentally challenged, or the millions of citizens who are homeless(and unemployed but not counted into unemployment statistics as they aren't counted in the census). Valets? I see a lot of college kids do to make some extra money. Waiting? A lot of uneducated women do that. If our economy really is based around illegal immigration(really no better than sweatshop labor, which we strongly disagree with) then why don't we do away with it. Have hefty fines for hiring workers under the table.

As for amnesty, to break the law and then just "get away with it" is ridiculous. Why don't we just open the jails up because hey, then we're saying it's okay to commit one crime but not another.

Mexico's situation bad? last time I checked, there wasn't rampant death occurring in mexico. The quality of life may not be great, but you know what, looking at things from a worldly perspective mexicans have no right to complain. They want out of their country, why don't we ship them over to africa and wait for them to beg to come back.

Am I being racist? I don't think so, I think anyone who cuts in line should get kicked out. And really, illegals aren't making a better life for themselves in America as apparently they send most of their money back home. So our "economic backbone" is also taking millions of dollars out of the US economy. This spine isn't a core. it's a cancer.

Well, the numbers, even by groups that are against illegal immigration, are much lower. Most groups cite between 11 and 16 million, though we really don't know for sure since no one counts the immigrants that go back.

Since we are, essentially, a nation of immigrants, it will take immigration being an actual problem before people start thinking about it in those terms. Like it or not, illegal immigration actual provides a measure of economic security by helping manufacturers keep clothing, food, and housing prices low (which helps the working poor of this country).

There's no evidence that illegal immigration is any security issue. None at all.

I used to be pulled both ways. I mean, I still feel sorry for the women and kids who try and get here in order to escape an abusive man, and I still feel sorry for the men who try and come here to support their family. But, now I realize that we cannont allow everyone to come here just because they have problems. Our economy cannot handle this. We will be the ones to suffer. I pray for those hurting in the world right now. We, as Americans, sometimes forget how good we have it, but it will not be this way forever if every person who wants to enter the U.S. can and then just live off our Government.

in reference to any tax post. we wouldn't be able to tax them because they would fall in the "less than 2% nontaxbale bracket" they apparently don't make enough.
if we were to remove them from our economy we would fall! how many people are willing to work in the fields for $2-3/hour? one of the key reasons the most immigrants are illegal is because of the corruption of the government on their end. take the philippines for example, they'll do anything to come over to the states to get a better life, because they've already hauled out money (which they don't have a lot of to begin with) to their governement in order to TRY and obtain a green card the LEGAL WAY, but that money gets "lost" in the pockets of higher officials. i think one of the reasons that the US govt is trying to make them legal is so that we can keep records on them in order to sift through files to track "possible terrorist" threats

YEAH...me. I've done those jobs. And I wasn't the owner. I was just a regular LEGAL, white American female.
